Seems like embedded Youtube videos aren't working in Opera anymore. Instead you have to double click and get to youtube where you are greeted by a nice banner telling you to try Chrome nice way for Google to take users away from Opera especially considering some of their features are designed to target opera users.
Well it worked on me, I downloaded Chrome used it for around 2 minutes and hated it. I'll keep double clicking the videos until they fix it
Does it happen to anyone else here?
Begun the browser war has!

since google currently owns all the content of the interwebz, i find chrome working pretty well

Can you link one of the problem clips, please ? Cause I keep hearing about people having trouble with Opera on youtube, but everything's been peachy for me so far. I'm just curious.
Chrome is still a joke, IMO. Sure, it's got plenty of potential, but it's also got some ways to go before it's up to par with the likes of Opera and Minefield (or FF 3.1, whatever). And if it takes the Google Talk approach (2 new features in 3 years), I'm not sure it's ever gonna catch up.
And the way it forces its update on you is intrusive and Apple-like. Who the hell can't update his browser ? If they fear we're retarded, why not just place a big "update" button on the right side ? But for Christ's sake, stop installing stealthy unwanted crap on our machines.

Not the case for me atm. And if they did it would be the quickest way to ensure that i'd never use chrome.

I also have this "problem". You have to double click embedded youtube videos. It's a little irritating but I just avoid watching them all together and save loads of time.

Nice way of working around the problem..
Tomcat it's on every embedded video you see on TL for ex. Maybe it happens just in the recent release...

I'm using FF3/Chrome on my machines. Both work well. For some reason Chrome works faster and better on my laptop ._.

Google used to be a sympathetic counterpower to Microsoft.
Now they use the same ugly disloyal marketing tools.
I hate big companies.

How French of you.
Chrome is nice because it is significantly faster than anything else but it's definitely not a worthy full featured browser.
I've had the "Video Unavailable" for a long time now. It happens with some Youtube videos (but not all) and Megaupload too, and it just started all of the sudden. I get the same problem in Chrome though, I actually have to use IE to watch Gom and stuff. o.o

Oh right... Sorry I didn't quite get it the first time. Yes, it happens on every embedded window on the page, but I for one don't find it all that annoying. Opera seems to "layer" all the embedded stuff on a page this way.
I remember seeing it in the early release of IE7 as well, but it looks like they've fixed it.
Btw, a good combo for Opera users is to make Opera the default browser, forbid access to IE from "set program access and defaults", install IE 7 pro and right click on every page that doesn't display correctly in Opera and choose Open in IE. I know this pretty much negates the purpose of Opera, but the number of pages that it can't display is pretty low these days, so you won't be using this "feature" that much.
It's still nice to have some mouse gestures and advanced functionality when you really must use IE, so this solution has worked pretty well for me.

Mozilla steals chrome's open source source code Mozilla makes nuclear-browser technology Firefox wins.

Chrome solves a lot of ff3 incompatibility issues, its just like IE but much nicer and quicker.
|
Actually, I like Chrome. It's a bit faster, but doesn't have the add-ons that Firefox has though.
|
Woah I didn't know other people actually used Opera.
Anyway, I'm not having this problem, so I'm not sure whats going on.

FF3

I still don't see a reason to change from firefox to anything else and i don't believe that will change. It has a very large community that is developing more or less every addon you can think of. The only thing i like about chrome is putting every tab into a process, so that your whole browser won't collapse because of one tab. But i believe ff will get that too, if it works well for chrome.
