That isn't my opinion, biological fact. Sorry, I just learned that in human bio and had a nerdgasm when I guessed your age correctly before looking at your profile.

Age/2 + 7 seems like pretty much always going to fail that test. 19, is 16 and a half. 30, is 22. 40 is 27... As if, buddy lol. I'd say it's more important to be at the same stage of life, or at least the younger person is about to enter your stage of life, and you're not leaving it soon. That is: Highschool, post secondary education, Job, real job, Family (as in, are interested in, or have had and perhaps lost), etc... As long as you feel like the person can relate to you, and is experiencing the same stresses in life you are... Otherwise you're going to feel retarded when your girlfriend is complaining about her grade 11 homework you could do in your head, or complaining about having to study for her midterms when you've got a full time job full of deadlines, or complaining about her job when you're so used to those problems, you wanna start thinking about settling down. These are just things that doom a relationship in the first place... But then, if you're just out for a quick fuck and nothing serious.... A relationship is not your issue. So I guess whatever you think a woman is capable of making her own intelligent decisions (ie, she isn't having sex with you to brag about how older guys like her, ie, she isn't in highschool). Course... This is just random advice from someone who knows nothing

But i'd say socially in america. If your below 12ish (7th grade) you really shouldn't be dating 12-14 you shouldn't be dating on a serious notation, and if so it should be with someone that is on your age. +1 you age if your dating a guy (woot double standard) 15 is more accepted to date more aggressively but still a +1 year limit. 16-17 +1 year limit and no longer much of a double standard, mostly if the guy is taller it's accepted =p 18-19 +2 years with a double standard with +1 for males 20-24 age group date block (includes 18-19 if you 20-21 perspectively) +-4 years on a given age without violating the ones that came before it 25-32 +-7 years 33+ 10 years? 12 years for a later age but it get kinda creepy after that Not sure if this is coherent.
