Hey guys! I just got 2 sc2 beta keys in the mail!
A lot of you have been disappointed because ebay has been removing the sc2 key auctions. Here's a way to sort of get around that. Lots of people package the sc2 key along with the wow mount, and some even package the card (containing both keys unscratched) with the rest of the blizzcon bag.
So bid on one of those auctions, and then resell the wow mount on ebay. The mounts alone are going on average for around 200-300 bucks!!! I started my auction to resell mine for $0.99 and it's already up to $152 with 3 days still left. Since I paid about 250 for the package of unscratched card + blizzcon goodie bag contents, if the resell price goes above 200 bucks I will have paid only 50 bucks for a sc2 beta key and the blizzcon goodie bag contents (which are awesome, btw... lol the diablo 3 "sinamints" are amazing).
I saw on some other threads some people saying they were willing to pay a lot of money for one of these keys, so 50 bucks shouldn't be too bad, especially considering you get the blizzcon goodie bag contents along with it if you bid on one of those auctions.
I'm sharing this with you guys because I believe everyone on team liquid should be in the sc2 beta All those kids that just play wow are wasting their cards, while plenty of hardcore starcraft players are left empty-handed.
Good luck bidding! I hope all of you get in the beta
Edit: ONE OF MY AUCTIONS FOR A MOUNT JUST SOLD FOR BUY IT NOW FOR 300 BUCKS LOLLLLLL THATS A PROFIT!!!!

I don't understand why someone would pay anything more than $20 for a key, and even that's a stretch. You'll have to buy the actual game anyways, is not waiting really worth $50 when you'll have to pay about the same for the full game?

When you have a job and a hobby that you've played for 10+ years, $50.00 is close to nothing for a chance to have first hand experience on the sequel.

While there's a beta, the people who participate will be some kind of elite, in addition to the explanation in the post above mine.

It's like snet said. I bought the original on the day it came out (rather my brother did). I've been playing for 10 years (though competitively only for like 1), and I honestly believe it to be the best game of all time. Playing the sequel like a year before it comes out is well worth it imo... as well as the fact that I will get to be among the people reporting problems and giving ideas for changes to the game. Being in a beta is amazing, the metagame changes so fast. It's really a completely different game. Playing scbw nowadays is mastering the game, whereas playing sc2 in the beta will be all about adapting and coming up with the best unit counters and strategies for the current build, which will be changing extremely quickly.
I'm expecting it to be a LOT of fun, definitely worth 50 bucks.

So SC2 key and WoW mount key are on the SAME card?
Am I understanding this correctly?

Yeah, it's on a card with a scratch-off area, and the top half of the scratch-off area is for the wow mount and the bottom half is the sc2 beta invite key.

Another question. I really shouldn't be trusting ppl e-mailing this shit out right?
Unless they have got good feedback perhaps...

Maybe if they have great feedback, but anything under 100% with at least 50 feedback I wouldn't go for unless they agree to mail you the card (or piece of the card) unscratched.
At least if u were going for the mount you could enter it right away to see, but they could easily save the sc2 code and use it themselves when the beta opens.

Jesus christ dude... lol
I would have bought one off ebay and sold it to you for way less than that
|
SORRY BUT I HAVE TO UPDATE THIS GUYS LOL
ONE OF MY MOUNT AUCTIONS ON EBAY JUST SOLD BUY IT NOW FOR 300 BUCKS LOLLLLLL
For one of them that I bought I paid 230 (for sc2 beta key, mount code, and entire goodie bag contents) and for another I paid 270 for the same contents.
That means for one of them I just made a PROFIT in addition to the items I received.
LOLLLLL

If you can find a "buy it now" for the card, you should use the live.com cashback. This will save you up to 30-35%(25% off right now) from ebay.

This doesn't work for everything. I tried searching "blizzcon" and it didn't show an ebay cashback option.

You can search for anything on live.com that gives you the cashback. Once you get in ebay, change the search for whatever you want. The cashback will stay with your ebay for an hour or until you make your buy it now purchase. That's how it works. For example, I always use "cheap wii" to get the cashback, then I do my searching afterwards.

ah cool, I wasn't aware of that workaround

But you don't get the cashback money until 2 months later.
