SUMMARY The 2024 League of Legends World Championship is upon us! The playins stage is already underway, and will be finishing today (September 29).
After playins comes the 5-round Swiss stage, in which the 4 qualifying playins teams will join the 12 teams that qualified through the year's regular seasons.
The top 8 teams from the Swiss stage advance to the 8-team single-elimination knockout bracket, where the World Champions will be decided for 2024!

Bad enough to lose to a team that didn't make it out of playins

I'm so confused about the existence of this thread and the people that have posted but will gladly contribute. So far, all the hype seems fairly disingenious, so I hope we'll get some naturally evolving narrative during that the production teams can latch on to. Absolute cinema seems like quite the cynical line for bad teams producing clown fiestas.
Also: really looking forward to T1 form, but also TL and Europe. It's always fun to see how the different regions actually stack up.

That TL video was so amazing. I tend to watch and root for LCS even if they aren't so great on the global stage, but now after that video I really hope they take some names. And if not, least we got some content.

I want to discuss worlds, because I am watching it, and don't want to touch reddit with a cross-galactic pole. Hence the thread The MSI one got a bit of engagement, so seemed worth putting up. I do agree the hype feels very constructed so far - but we have only watched the bad games so far

Yeon not having boots completed until 38 minutes was a huge factor in them losing imo. The extra movement speed and attack or armour would've been so useful.

t1 and dk need new rosters. geng will probably win the whole tournament only reason imo they might not is the meta they were so dominant in got swapped up on them. if it was the patch we saw during the summer 1000000%

I think Riot needs to leave the game as is and leave certain things figured out by themselves. Millions of players that play the game and theorycraft are smarter than balance teams, that probably not even play the game (that often).
G2 - T1 was so hype. Sad game 2 ended the way it did, but T1's snap engage on Caps was so sick.

TL needs to drop Umti. I think APA and Impact are done too. They massively underperformed this World's. I don't know if it's due to the patch or they just got hard exposed and collapsed right at the end of the LCS summer finals and are now slumping but man it was bad.

Expected a boring 3-0 in Gen G vs FLY but it's turning into a legendary series, let's see if the boys can finish the greatest heist. Massu has great hands, I was unfamiliar with his game.

An electric watch, holy damn. Love a good underdog story.
|
Flyquest had such a good draft, Inspired just couldn't find the angle. Would've been such a beautiful game to win. They performed damn well, truly impressed.
|
T1, oh my, every worlds they just level up so much.
