Other than that it has a particular emphasis on positioning, setting up good positions and of course insane micro/multitasking capabilities and imo by far the best mirror matchup

Terran is the strongest race, but damn losing hurt when you fall behind AoE toss or 5 base Z who banes you to death. Yeah, love the ghost. Pretty rare to reach that gamestate imo (where you can mass them)

Hell, Warhammer Space Marine 2 did an opening cinematic similar to the "how well do you know yourself" WoL trailer. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

But the playerbase has changed with the game, now terrans are mostly ADD demanding action, action, action. This type of play is so uncool to me, it might be because I've played more wc3 than BW. I almost don't consider stutter stepping as micro, or at least it's not the cool type of micro. It's become like that for Protoss as well. MaxPax's FPV is amazing to watch on the few occasions that he's streamed. But I do wish that Blizzard hadn't chosen to emphasise the "real time" aspect of RTS quite so heavily when designing Heart of the Swarm and (especially) Legacy of the Void.

There are of course factors with the campaign and presentation. When someone buys SC2 today, there is a good chance they wouldn't even get through the entire campaign (which is crazy to me, considering how excellent it is...), so they might stop at the WoL campaign, thus having only played Terran. But there is antoher reason: Terran is the most "standard" race. Of course not in the context of SC2, all three races are really unique, so there is no "standard". But compared to other RTS, Terran is definetly the most standard and "basic". You build your eco, you build your units in buildings and your units come out of those buildings. Sure, there are aspects like the lifting of buildings, but that isn't something you *need* to do at the start. If you have played AoE before, you feel right home with Terran. But Zerg and Protoss? Your workers disappearing for each building, your production being your main base and depending on larva? Or Warp-Ins you have to factor in, while your buildings also need to be warped around Pylons? If you have a general understanding how RTS works, Terran is definetly the easiest race to get into at the start. Whoaa it really asks to be a genius... Terran have more decision making and various style at pro level and it s the reason of their success. Zerg is the beginner race because it a sci fi game.

Zerg isn’t remotely the beginner race given the droning/army production conundrum requires you to vaguely know what’s going on and reacting to what your opponent is doing Have you considered actually playing the game instead of just pontificating on it? They have the worst pre-decided allins and offensive by a distance too, it’s much easier to just learn a few timings as Terran or Protoss and do grand, just follow a build to the letter. If you know how the game works, Zerg isn’t more tricky than other options, but for a complete beginner it absolute is and it’s ridiculous to argue otherwise

You should consider SC2 as an elitist game where terrans players are often the creative ones, which are a minority in a bunch of people. Zerg is the cool race, and people love what is cool. https://tl.net/forum/starcraft-2/630707-why-do-players-prefer-terran-in-starcraft#20 I already posted the statistics on this. Terran is the most popular at lower skill levels, which is where most new players are going to reside. Zerg is the least popular at lower skill levels.

Dawg if you spent as much time learning the game as you do posting about it, you'd make much better posts about it.
