Harder to get the difficulty of ones path just at the glance but some good games are in order I don’t think the format changes are exactly enthusing people. But even with the previous format I don’t think that many fans pay that much attention until CL time is closer approaching anyway

Im just not as excited for him as i used to be. It’s crazy to think at one point Italy had 3 creative forward type players as Baggio, Del Piero and Totti all having a big career overlap, where Chiesa might be the best of the bunch now even with him not quite recovering his best form. There is some hope with 2 of those two having great careers even post big ACL injuries . Also crazy to think how good Baggio, ADP and Ronaldo could have been without them. They were still obviously great players, but they were never quite the same. It’s 10 million, which these days is pocket change. So it’s not a massive gamble. I gotta say a lot of business done this summer is pretty insane in terms of some of the fees. Especially the horse-trading the likes of Chelsea, Villa, Everton were doing right at the start of the window which totally wasn’t dodgy or intended to manipulate the books… No wonder very few clubs turn much of a profit if every time they pull in more income, the transfer market just inflates! Solanke's fee made me explode my head At least Solanke had a good season last time out, but it’s still a ridiculous fee.
But you’re having youth prospects who haven’t played even a handful of games going for 30/40 million plus as well which is even more mental to me

I don't get the cl draw, I thought it was going to be Swiss system? Where you play someone with the same record as you all the way through?

I don't know what's the intent on the current one, but a regular Swiss system sounds pretty stressful from logistics viewpoint. You'd be dealing with constantly changing travel targets half a season at least.

No no, its a league system, everyone plays the same number of games against different teams, but the opponnents dont change, they are drawn at the start.
Every team plays 2 teams from each of the 4 pots for 8 games total, 4 home, 4 away.
Top 8 teams are directly through, from 9 to 24 (?) Go to a playoff to find the other 8 and then its regular bracket style with home and away games against the opponent for a given round.
Everyone knows their schedule already and that will not change regardless if one wins or loses their matches
There are some nastier paths and based on several seasons of FM experience, your pot1 luck will go a long way to set how easy or hard your run will be.

Having played through it a few times in FM, I started to really like this new system. Initially, it felt confusing, but it became exciting and interesting once the understanding and the implications were clear.
One may only complain that for bubble teams, the scenarios of the last playday can be extremely complex. There can easily be scenarios, where your elimination/direct advance depends not only on your game but also 6 other games... The funny if-then-else trees on websites will be great to watch :D

PSG and Liverpool stand out as having unlucky draws.
Not like any top teams are going to be eliminated, but top 8 seems like a decent advantage. I'm pretty excited for this system tbh.

Really? I feel like our draw is fine overall. We have some tricky games, but outside of RMA and Leverkusen, both of which are at home, I don't think we should be losing the other games. Draws at worst. We drew the easiest team in Pot 1, and AC Milan are whatever to me in Pot 2. We did get some of the trickier opponents like PSV and Girona in the lower pots, but again, we should be beating these teams, so I'm not too upset over the draw. We should advance in the top 8 if I had to guess regardless unless we massively fuck things up.
RMA at Anfield is going to be a banger of the game, but we can only hope the game actually matters. If it's our last game in GW8 of this stage, both teams might already be in the top8 at that point and we play heavily rotated sides.

Again based only on the several FM simulations which are worth what they are, rarely do we see several teams to reach the last match day with top8 already secured.
I would say chances of that happening are low, but you can quote me in a few months if it indeed does happen 😁
(Caveat to the above is that i believe top teams will perform better in real life than in simulations so i would expect 4 to 5 to have the top8 locked by the MD7 end).

Haaland with 7 goals after the first 3 matches. With the role he has now, without striker competition, having been rested all summer with no international tournaments, I think he might really set an unbreakable record if he avoids injury.

Well the lack of striker competition might not be good whenever he needs a rest.
Arsenal losing points already and odegaard is killing me in fantasy so far this season.

What are you even talking about? He clearly kicked the ball away, which is always a yellow.

I mean, Casemiro has been shit for ages, why did man utd number 2? (if Yoro was number 1 target) target take until transfer deadline day to get over the line, when that position is clearly needed, so silly and deservedly paid the price for it today.

because we apparently dont have money and needed sales to go through first. seems it was mctominay and sanchos deals that pushed it over the line.
anyway i honestly dont have high hopes for us this season. ten hag has shown that he wont budge from his tactics no matter how shit the results are, and i dont think ugarte is at the level of genius that ten hag wants from his single pivots. 3 games in and were already looking like last season

Selling McTominay, who has been with the club since he was a child and shows genuine passion every time he steps onto the field, whilst keeping Casemiro...
Clown behaviour.

Clown behaviour. Well you have to convince someone to take Casemiro off your hands
As a Serie A man, and Scottish enough to have a da called Angus, I’m quite excited to see both McGod and Billy Gilmour popping over to Napoli as a silver lining!
Seeing some of the fees going around this summer, hey I think United should have kept him for the reasons you outline, useful squad player. But the price they let him go for? :S

McTominay loves Manchester United, he was fine being a player off the bench

How cant you afford that, plus you also bought in de ligt before hand too though, surely was more needed to buy ugarte first.
Oh well, ten haag has until november to save his job imo.
