Looking at PL/CL, Arsenal had 15 goals in the 11 matches he was gone. Now they have 9 in 3. He was really ready to come back. Forest couldn't get a player within 3 yards of him the other day. He was the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile.

How did Arsenal hurt you? They’re still probably a top 10 in Europe team, and by extension the world I mean there’s not many bigger stages than that Beats him barely getting a game in a stacked Madrid squad. Lovely player to watch, somehow despite basically everyone agreeing he’s very good I still think he’s a bit underrated in quite how good

Always showing huge signs of promises and then falling flat ![]() But I am first and foremost a fan of football and Odegaard can achieve more and higher stuff at a better club than Arsenal which only wins FA Cups every few years. Odegaard deserves to win league titles and have shots at CL titles

Need to be make 24th to qualify for the next round and are in legitimate danger of missing out. Their last three games are RB Salzburg away, Man City at home and Stuttgart away.

Mbappe on the other hand has become really bad --> see national team

Mbappe on the other hand has become really bad --> see national team They are the luckiest, my potential grand children won’t believe me and consider me a crank, but my god it’s true I tells ya! I’m not an insane person, they’ve been amongst the top sides, some of the BBC era sides may have been outright Europe’s best for a bit. They just won much more than they should have in runs where they consistently were getting out of jail. It’s odd, Perez seemed to have somewhat learned the lessons from the first Galactico era, Real have bought a good mix of exciting youngsters for the future, superstars to fit particular holes, and good quality across the park. So no, I’m not blaming him for everything This summer was a bit of a return to those bad habits. I think Mbappe is better than Vinicius but it’s really not by all that much. Kroos retires, Modric is basically on a zimmer frame at this stage. You spend big, big money on a player whose best position you already have a bloke good enough to be a Ballon D’Or runner up in your squad We’ll see what happens, Carlo Ancelotti has done it before, he came up with/adopted his famous ‘Christmas tree’ formation at Milan because Silvio Berlusconi kept on buying him number 10s he didn’t want, but he found a way to make that work

Perez seemed to have learned just to be so stubborn with the whole mbappe thing I think Mbappe is just like, the guy for this generation, and perhaps Perez felt he had to strike now or potentially miss out. I think he’s wrong here as I don’t think anyone else would buy him that he’d be willing to go to. Barca are skint, Bayern don’t go that big (Kane’s transfer fee was, but his wages are nowhere near). Liverpool are run as a business as well as a club, hell they’re playing hardball with Salah/Trent/Virgil seemingly, I couldn’t see them buying him. Arsenal have money but do they have that much and would he go? Man City have this upcoming case and they’re subject to the Prem’s financial rules anyway, I don’t think they could balance the books for Mbappe without losing some squad depth. Man United aren’t competing at the business end of things, so he wouldn’t go there. No Italian side could afford him. I think partly his fault, partly circumstance. By becoming the face of PSG and accustomed to being indulged, on crazy wages, he’s almost too big to go anywhere but Real. As much as I don’t really like Real, although I do respect them, I do hope they figure a way to make it work out. There are really few sights in the sport quite as thrilling as Mbappe at his absolute best. It would be a shame if we didn’t see much of that for a while

So i'll shift this to another topic. Fellow TL'rs from the UK or MUtd supporters, how have the first few days of amorim been? I saw a tie and a 3-2 win which is not brilliant but it might still be too early to expect anything at all. How are the media and the players reacting?
