well my retort would be what i said prior, you have the employees come in on a weekend, preferably sunday. that way everyone who wants to can play without impedement. and u might say why make employees work overtime when they dont have to, and to that i say (also what i said before) you only get 1 shot at release, you should want to make it as big as possible. its not like you are asking them to work crazy overtime, just 1 day, thats all. so yeah i dont personally think saying having employees available for 7 hours is very valid... (dont hate me community) the only explanation i can see that makes sense is you cant have OUTSIDE company employees be available outside of weekdays if u need to reach out for whatever reason.
I think having 'early access' and an 'early access preview' is just gonna be confusing as hell to the casual RTS audience they really need to draw in, and they're gonna risk wasting some of their release period hype if this is mismanaged.
That said, looking forward to playing co-op on the 30th :o

still waiting for this :/ lets get some patch notes and new unit trailers! I know we got the map update which sorta included some teasers but it doesnt really tell you much about them.

Like you said, server infrastructure is mostly not inhouse but from other companies. That plus the fact that this is the soft launch of an EA release... Yes it's hella confusing
Of all the things that are not perfect, this I don't mind the slighest

They don't need to advertise to kickstarter backers who already paid, and they're the ones playing from the 30th.
I'd expect there to be more promotion for the 'real' EA launch on the 13th and then for the actual release next year. Although I suspect Frost Giant are waiting to see how popular the game gets without the need for real promotion (streamers, content creators, word of mouth will all be around during EA).

At the very least can we get patch notes so we know what we're playing with tomorrow?

The update is possibly too big to get conventional patch notes? But they've posted a list of big changes to the reddit

Have you seen some of the big Dota patch notes? They are short novel length. I honestly don't see it as critical before release of a title though.
I just watched a streamer play a little. It looked way worse than SC2 in 2010, which I have to say is disappointing. The engine seemed primitive, and units did not move organically. Battle Aces made a much better job at making it obvious which units do what, and it was easier to tell them apart.
Maybe some will really fall in love with the gameplay, but to me, SC2 just seems better there too, unfortunately. I'll check some more streams later.
The Good - Diverse sets of primary/secondary objectives - Nice balance between basic base macro, map exploration, army combat, and RPG-style solo boss battles - Cinematic scenes have decent graphics and are reasonably interesting (obviously not Blizzard-level though) - The mission briefings remind me of StarCraft 1's mission briefings - The early story/plot is okay (I think it'll become deeper when more missions are released)
The Bad - Little opportunity to explore advanced bases, buildings, or units (maybe in later, unreleased chapters) - Little opportunity to expand bases and play a more traditional, longer match (maybe in later, unreleased chapters) - The campaign doesn't truly prepare you to play a real multiplayer match (maybe in later, unreleased chapters) - Characters sometimes have inconsistent personalities and questionable dialogue
The Ugly - Close-ups of faces during the cutscenes look extremely plastic, and sometimes have no mouth movement
Feels like we need more lore backstory. It just kinda jumps in there. I read the e-novella.
I miss the big Starcraft manuals of old - the original SC had an awesome story there.
Overall I'm still having fun - graphics are better, game runs well for me so far. I keep winning 1v1s (people can't macro) but I randomed van/cel/inf so they were "beginner" games.
I'm surprised they really lifted a lot of the SCV quotes with the BOBs - the "ahhh you scared me" and now "in the rear with the beer" (rear in SC2). It's fine with me, but so blatant
It's weird to see some of the Steam reviews - people with 30 minutes played. First impressions are certainly important... but is it really necessary to shit on the game after that little time, especially in EA?

short play time reviews are usually review bombs and/or has something that is a massive turn off. I couldn't sit through 5 games last beta and would have given it a bad rating as well. Reviews can change so we just gotta rate it as is.
