So an update, I'm still in America I don't know whats going on but w/e. and school started and its already getting too hard during my junior year in high school. I got AP Stats, Adv. Physics, Spanish 4, AP US History, AP Language, Adv precalc. But I wanted to talk about being nervous.
I get nervous really easily. For some reason on the first day of school, I had this anxiety feeling that whole day. Yesterday, I had to present something in spanish , nothing much but I got really nervous. Then today, during AP Language, we had to talk in front of the class about this childish thing we made, you draw out your hand and cut it and put a bunch of crap on it. That room is freaking cold and I was nervous so I was shivering like crazy.
How do you all get rid of being nervous? Was there a time you got nervous but now you're comfortable speaking in front of people? I need help alot!
Unless you have an anixity disorder stage fright is only going to go away through repetition. It's the feeling that you don't know what you are doing and you might mess up. but considering the classes you are taking it seems like you are smart enough to make the conscious choice to go up there and get used to it.
Good luck.
Btw whats with the frowny face about being in America? And where are you that school starts in the middle of August?
on a serious note... I think it's something some people is born with, some people just dont care with standing up in front of a class taking risks in life etc.. they usually arent nervous at all..but I guess its something you could work on.
To be honest, this is just my opinion tho.. I think it could be home sick, culture is so much different here than back in Asia right? Do you have your parents and friends here? or no?
Sometimes is really good to talk to really close people to you so they can support you and tell you how you are doing etc.. because if you are all alone doing it yourself, you might think too much about it.. like am i doin the right thing etc..
Same thing is happening to me at the moment but on a whole different level T.T

Oh, well our visa kinda expired so I wanted to go to korea to at least renew it and come back.
I live in louisville, ky. our break started like late may.
and nice video.
Infested, I've been living here for like 10 years now so its about 2/3 of my life so far, its nothing really about culture, I've adapted but I can never get over it.
i was always shy and got self conscious when talking in front of groups. even casually in front of friends. but when i got excited about an idea that really resonated with me, like strategy, acupuncture, creation evolution, ron paul and the constitution, freemarkets, the nervousness went away. why? cause ur sure about it. or ur sure that you really like it and want to share it. confidence can simply be the absence of nervousness, rather than "overflowing prowess".
and in the end, you have to keep going at it too, and practice in order to conquer it. a buddy at basic training told me, "shyness is a confidence issue" yours may not be shyness, but it relates to nervousness and feeling weird in public speaking.
something practical might be to sit and recognize this is just a stupid presentation about some project in one of the classes ill take. i've had to do nervous presentations before, but im not dying about it right now. the same will be for this months and years down the road. when you recognize that its not such a big deal, you can take it more lightly. hope it helps =)
