They had a special screening here in some of the states, went to one of them. Overall 7.5... But:
+ Show Spoiler +The whole time travel/ not time travel thing is confusing as hell... So 5 years has passed but everyone that died in the snap has been brought back to life? Those that are back would not have aged, but those that survived would have aged five years... What? This makes no sense even in the other movie verses.

Will go and see it tonight. I am so hyped!! Saw some spoiler free reviews from some youtubers that claim the movie is epic. That 7.5 from StealthBlue shocked me.

Saw it today in Korea. + Show Spoiler +- Maybe this is inevitable, but kind of like RotK for LotR, since you basically know how it should end, there was a lot less thrill for this one for me compared to Infinity War. Yes the final battle scene is epic and all (sort of like the Rohan Cavalry charge against the Mordor Orcs at Minas Tirith), but nothing really surprises you that much.
- I loved the nostalgia factor in going back to parts of previous films. It was good to see some of these characters again for one last time.
- Thanos (and all his minions for that matter) was disappointing. I loved how they portrayed Thanos in Infinity War, where we get to see a range of emotions from him that we normally don't see in movie villains. But here, he is just another bad guy imo, a monster that just swings a big weapon. And for all that effort, did he even kill anyone in Endgame? In Infinity War, right off the bat, he dominated Hulk and kills Heimdall and Loki and sets the tone for what kind of guy he is/can be, but in Endgame? But to be honest, out-doing what they did with Thanos in Infinity War is probably an impossible task.
- Why do I get the feeling that Cpt. Marvel was under-utilized. I mean, yes, one could argue what she does in the film is important (like saving Iron Man from space or destroying Thano's ship), but seriously? They made a whole movie just so they could explain how Iron Man made it back to Earth? I mean, I totally agree that someone who just came into the scene shouldn't be getting all the spotlight over the veterans, but I just can't help but feel that all this Cpt. Marvel hype of "the avengers couldn't do it by themselves, so now they need her" was for nothing. They way the movie played out, it almost seemed like the avengers COULD get it done without her. She was just there as a space tow truck for Iron Man.
All in all, it was a fun movie for sure, but I would rate Infinity War higher. But that's just me.

Saw it today. I would rate it 7.5-8 as well. I dont give spoilers obviously. Its not a bad movie, but its not the 10/10 I potentially expected which might also be a factor.

+ Show Spoiler +I agree with most of your points. For me the Avengers / Infinity Saga was kind of a superb setup for having no happy end at all. Obviously that has a real bitter taste but if you end a saga, you can take a chance. I am not an avid comic reader so I cannot say how close or far they are from the comics if they are related at all. Sorry didn't read it up at all.
I felt when Thanos got the gauntlet and said that he is unavoidable that should have ended right there with him dominating. I am not DISAPPOINTED in the movie but yeah - agreed on all of your aspects

Just saw it. I went through a lot of emotions. But I can't rate it yet. I'm confused. I like a lot of things in the movie, but one thing made it meh at the end.
+ Show Spoiler +The time travel stuff, although it was pretty well thought, had completely broke of the immersion of the 22 previous movies for me. I mean, what prevents them now to go get ANY of the dead heroes in the past and bring them back, even temporarly ? It's just... easy. I wanted SO much to get an epic ending, and I kinda got it, but it's bugging me that they used time travel.
About the future movies, at the moment i'm not even interested anymore. They need to bring a SOLID explanation for me to believe that everything is just fine in the far from home movie. Fuck, then even broke my excitation about AoS returning soon. Immersion definitly broken for me now.

Just saw it. Dunno what you guys are on about, easy 10/10. There was a standing frikkin ovation in the cinema afterwards, something I've never seen before at least. Nostalgia probably helps a bit, this movie is the accumulation of 11 years of MCU after all, bit it's a great movie even without it.
+ Show Spoiler +I'm surprised people think the villain wasn't as good as Infinity war considering it'sthe same frikkin guy. We've already had an entire movie dedicated to his motivations and resolve. This is the second part of that movie where the good guys gets to test theirs against his, and it was an epic ride from start to finish. And a great farewell to all those who helped make the MCU what it is

+ Show Spoiler +You realize the MCU isn't over right? This wasn't even the final movie of Phase 3. Spider-Man: Far From Home is the final movie of Phase 3 and it will start phase 4. (of course some heroes we won't see for a long time) Of course its t he same guy, but with different motivation. Also I feel this movie had a lot of pacing issues. They wanted to get to 3 hours which you could tell. The first 1.5 hours and I do LIKE build up and story building, were written and cut slow and felt ... well not pointless, but for the duration a bit thin content wise.
Also as I believe I said - I think it would have been a better ending if being closer to the comics, where Thanos kinda wins after Infinity War, then beats down every last hero. This is of course not the end of it - and I understand why they didn't go this road.

+ Show Spoiler +Because Cpt. Marvel movie was rushed due to, oddly enough, Marvel/Disney writing themselves into a corner. If anyone has seen the Cpt. Marvel film can easily see how it was seemingly rushed into production, writing, in order to be finished before Infinity War ended. I agree they could have easily done it without her while taking the time to introduce her but this is what we got, plot holes and everything with the Cpt. Marvel film.
Hence the reason she went to "patrol" the other planets etc. because she simply had to be plugged into a film that didn't really need her at all nor the universe as a whole to begin with. Because she wasn't introduced earlier.

Oh boy. I was really hoping this to be a masterpiece but i dunno i just didnt like it that much. A 6.5-7 in my eyes.
+ Show Spoiler +I really liked Thor as "Lebowski" type character.i think hemsworth could easily play in a comedy and also really hope new guardians of the galaxy has him in it The scene with thor and quil towards the end was really got me laughing alot. Now i dont get why the hell cpt america is able to swing thors hammer and also fire lighting from it. And cpt america going to be a black guy from now on? I dont have anything against black people but it was kinda shows marvel is doing this on purpose to you know say here we support black people get your superhero or that other scene were there is cpt marvel picking up the stones and all women go around her like ok we get it, girl power so u want to have women to like marvel. Also a random question. Xmen are marvel why we dont see them in these films?

+ Show Spoiler +MCU absolutely isn't over, dunno why you'd think I thought that, but the era definitively is. All the original avengers have successfully passed on the torch. While I'm sure we'll be seeing some of them again, others make that difficult for obvious reasons. It was very emotional to see everything that has happened in the last 11 years lead up to this very moment.
The reason you can't "end it like the comics" is because the comics aren't one unified story. It's a bunch of random short and longer stories where if something happens that is difficult to repair, they can just throw that out into its own universe or timeline. And while it would be interesting to end with Thanos winning, it would be an impossible task to continue an MCU where half of the population is dead. Some might feel that the time travel bit was a cop out, but it was inevitable after Infinity war, and the way they did it was very tasteful. They didn't make as strict of rules as I would have wanted for why some people can't be brought back, but they at least addressed it. They also didn't use the age old trope of "changing the future by changing the past", which I am very thankful for.
I didn't notice any pacing problems in the cinema, but I was also heavily invested and at the edge of my seat for most of it. These are things I might notice if I rewatch it at home later, when I'm less overwhelmed by the spectacles.

Tangentially related to Endgame, but just to be safe.
+ Show Spoiler + Simplified answer: The characters in the MCU (with certain exceptions) are licensed to Disney, while the X-Men were licensed to Fox. Now that Disney's acquired Fox, Disney will be able to start producing films with the X-Men characters.
Spider-Man is licensed to Sony, but they cut a deal with Disney before Captain America: Civil War so that the character can appear in the MCU.

+ Show Spoiler +i just saw this like an hour ago... fucking depressed because it was the end of an era

Saw it yesterday and well, it's allright i guess? It had some funny scenes and the emotional stuff worked for me but all in all it felt a bit too all over the place... And large scale cgi battles are and allways will be bullshit.
|
|
+ Show Spoiler +In the final scene, when the point is, as someone said "get the stones as far away from here as possible!", why did they have to run around the battlefield? Why not just fly it away, like cpt Marvel could just zoom to the other end of the galaxy with the glove.
