The three kings of the ESL Open Cups each took a victory a piece, with herO winning in Korea, Clem reigning supreme in Europe, and MaxPax closing out the week with a win on the American server.
The KR cup featured Reynor making his second attempt at the weekly crown since relocating to Korea, and this time he made it all the way to the finals with wins against Rogue, Solar (playing as his offrace Protoss), and Dark along the way. However, he couldn't overcome herO's mighty PvZ in the finals, and conceded a 1-3 defeat to the recent Code S finalist.
The EU cup saw MaxPax and Clem face off in the finals for the third week in a row, with the two players having taken turns winning the championship in weeks #221 and #222. Clem took this week's 'rubber match' by a commanding 3-0 score, improving to 17-15 against MaxPax in Open Cup finals.
MaxPax immediately redeemed himself by winning the American server cup in impressive fashion, achieving a perfect run with victories over trigger, ByuN, and herO in the final three rounds. The cup also featured a minor upset in the RO8, with Wayne taking a 2-1 over Dark (Wayne is actually 4-4 against Dark in ESL Open Cup play).
In non-ESL competition, Dark won KSL #48 with a 3-1 victory against Cure in the finals.
