Wtf lol,now trump has capitulated to Russia because he has congratulated putin? Every foreign leader has congratulated putin, how is this even an issue?
I also do not fully understand what alternative the usa would want for putin. After jeltsin putin has been a blessing for not only rusia but the stability in the whole world. Well, looks like CBS answered how they felt about releasing the grainy images of the suspect.
+ Show Spoiler +
AUSTIN, Texas — We have obtained photos of the person investigators believe dropped off two suspicious packages on Sunday. Investigators say this is a person of interest and that the two packages are connected to the string of explosions in Austin.
We're told the US Marshal's Lone Star Fugitive Task Force - Austin Division - gathered the video and helped the lead agencies get an idea of where this person of interest might be.
Our sources tell us these pictures are from surveillance video taken inside a South Austin FedEx Office store on Brodie Lane where the person shipped the two packages. One of the two packages exploded on a conveyor belt at a FedEx sorting facility outside of San Antonio in Schertz. The second package was intercepted at a facility near the Austin airport.
The second suspicious package was being treated as if it could be a bomb according to Congressman Lloyd Doggett's office. Both packages originated from the same location.
The photos show the person, possibly wearing a wig and gloves, carrying two packages. According to time stamps on the pictures the person was in the store around 7:30 on Sunday evening.
Authorities believe the same person or persons are connected to the two packages that surfaced Tuesday are also responsible for the four other explosions that began on March 2nd that killed two people and injured six.

Interesting to note, these were NOT released by authorities.
UPDATE:
Austin, Texas — Local reports indicate a suspect connected to recent bombings in Austin, Texas, is dead.
A reporter with WFAA confirmed the suspect was killed after the FBI and Austin police tracked him down and engaged him in Round Rock. A device was detonated and shots were fired.

Wonder what, if anything, they will uncover of his motives.

I almost feel sorry for those people to have to deal with such colossal stupidity. Trump’s WH looks increasingly like a surrealist satire in which minusters try to prevent a capricious all powerful five years old to do random shit all the time.

Hard to imagine how a brown person with a remotely Muslim name gets the same "he could just be a person who wanted to kill people then blew himself up" treatment , but maybe that's just me.

He also might have posted to Reddit. But a 23 year old White Male will hardly be national news for more than 24 hours. Unless there are more packages, or copy cats.

There'll come a point before too long when pretty much everyone has some kind of digital footprint on a forum or social media platform.

What's his personal view of Putin? I'm curious as - obviously - we rarely get the views of actual Russians. I've known a couple that are sort of on the fence. They like him and what he's doing but would rather he did some things differently, and one or two at the opposite extremes.

As far as I know they still haven't released them/confirmed them, just that it was a 24 yo white male. Presumably that reason no longer applies. The one they gave at the press conference was informing the family and the investigation (meaning confirmed by medical examiner), but if they don't know where this guy has been or if there may be more bombs out there a more detailed description seems like it would be prudent.
A lot of coincidences so far, but we'll see what we learn in the coming days.

Don't see why not, Obama congratulated Putin on his election during his term, both administrations sold SA weapons to be used in the atrocities in Yemen. That even our own state department said could make us culpable for war-crimes.
Might not talk about it at a press conference though.

Looks like mailing the packages was a pretty dumb decision. Wonder what made him switch up the m/o.

This story keeps getting weirder. "Deep state" and "drain the swamp" were field tested as messages to get peoples support all the way back in 2014. This isn’t a political research firm, this is a propaganda agency. They are not testing political policy messages, but the best way to manipulate people.

My personal experience talking with Russian people is that many of them would chose cheap national pride over reality every day of the week and twice on sunday. Having done my studies in an environment that counts lots of russian folks, I have learnt to simply try to avoid talking politics or even worse, history, with them as it never leads anywhere (btw, have observed that tendency with Polish people too).
I had a surrealist conversation with a russian block the other day who thought that the press was free, the elections fair and transparent and the justice system independant in Russia. Putin was a humble man and Forbes ranking him one of the wealthiest man in the works is obeying shadowy interests, just like every single western media, that all have a secret anti russian agenda. Oh and if you criticize Stalin, why not Napoleon, who killed so many russian people.
I’m not making any of that up, he was that dumb when it came to his country. LegalLord doesn’t even come close.
I think that’s why there is no hope for Russia, ever. Some shitty cold war complex means they will take everything rather than admit their country is utterly fucked.

It's interesting because it seems to have happened in reverse. Usually you take your platform, then figure out how to message it. It seems that here instead they just found a few things that resonated with people, then cobbled it together into a platform.

It's been that way since the ad agencies figured out it was more effective than selling the product on it's merits. Didn't take long for the ones that worked in campaigns to figure it out.
This is just the modern equivalent being exposed regarding political candidates. That CA and others like them operate around the world should be a sobering thought for a lot of people though.
