Paying the luxury tax with LeBron on the roster is fine. But the lack of a commitment from James makes it hard to go all in on any trade. Deals for Hill or Jordan might not be highly probable, anyway. Multiple NBA executives and agents I spoke with say both the Kings and Clippers are looking for younger assets and draft picks. There’s even less incentive for the Clippers, who are currently eighth in the West, to settle for a deal.
The Cavs don’t have much ammo, partially thanks to big paydays in 2015 and 2016 for Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith, two clients of Rich Paul’s Klutch Sports.

This is why Lebron will never be GOAT (unless he wins at least 2 more championships without forming a superteam, while getting greatish stats):
LeBron James Reportedly Upset Cavs Didn't Trade for Paul George, Eric Bledsoe
Not considering the first Cavs stint, LBJ played with Allen, Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love, IT, Korver all in their primes, plus very good support players in TT, Shumpert, JR, Movgov... and all he ever does is complain for more superstars.
It pains me as a fan but I've got to say it, Lebron is overrated.

TEAM WORLD RISING STARS

I've long supported the suggestion of USA vs. World All Star games. national/cultural pride (and maybe shades of anti-American sentiment) will be too great to make is a usual boring no defense showtime game.
Let's do it in 2019!

DD has killer instinct. He, Durant, WB, are among the few superstars who never shy away from game winners.

in 7 starts Isaiah Thomas' +/- is -92. its no surprise his ESPN Real +/-, which is based on +/-, is horrible. ORPM: -1.43 DRPM: -1.66 RPM: -3.09
since Isaiah Thomas returned LBJ is something like -150 or something ridiculous. as a result, LBJ's ESPN Real +/- is the worst since the metric was created 5 years ago.
in the 4th quarter of the Spurs game with things still close LBJ took his foot off the gas. he just gave up. i've never seen that before.

these constantly changing sigs/footers are great!

Why the heck have the Cavs abandoned Thompson as a cog? He is capable of being a very good defender particularly in the Pick n Roll. On offense he is the same as Deandre, doing mostly his work within 3 feet. The fact that he has been cut out seems to me to be a symptom of the underlying issues.

welp, Thompson is starting in Cleveland's next game. so i guess its IT,JR,LBJ,Love,Thompson.
i think Calderon's game meshes better with that starting lineup than IT's game.
if IT were a true team player he would've gotten in basketball shape by playing in their G League team for 2 or 3 weeks. After he is in game shape he can join the Cavs.

If we could find a team to unload Powell onto, I would do it. I think he has the yips, and it's not like his ceiling was all that high to begin with. The reason he looked so good in his first couple of years is that he was a "4-year rookie."
I think he's hit the wall, the book is out on him, and he's got in his own head. Gonna be a defensive bench guy the rest of his life.

And here's Coach Nick's opinion on the Cavs struggles this season:
+ Show Spoiler +
Edit:
Watching IT on defense is just... Man, no wonder nobody is trying on defense, it's 5on4 out there.
Edit2:
Aaaaaand, as always, his Ad-game is on point.

I hate that new All Star Game format. Basically, it's random team vs. random team. But well, gone are the days when east vs. west actually meant something to the players. Watch some all star games from the 80s/90s to get my point. They actually were playing defense back then.

I mean...the Celtics-Lakers series were hitting 140 points in the Finals...but sure.
