If I remember correctly the maplimit was ~1600 units. A Carrier for example counts as 1+Interceptors (8?) = 9 units. A Vulture counts as 1+ used Spider Mines = max 4. I think some of the mapfeatures were also counted as unit. Since the rockets of a Valkyrie also count as a unit they werent able to shoot when the maplimit was already reached.

if I dont have BW installed, should I wait until this patch comes out so it can launch properly with the new benefits to running on a modern rig?
or do I still need this mca64launcher and shit regardless?

Since the rockets of a Valkyrie also count as a unit they werent able to shoot when the maplimit was already reached. it is neither the unit limit nor the absolute sprite limit but simply the weapon sprite limit, and more specifically the extra low weapon sprite limit for Valkyries (probably introduced by the developers as a clumsy workaround to preevent Valkyries taking over the whole list of weapon sprites and thus jamming all other units instead...)

or do I still need this mca64launcher and shit regardless? Your going to want MCA either way as its an antihack + gives lan lat in games if others have that, or a similar program enabled. The patch will hit in a week, so if you want to install now or then is just up to when you want to play.

Am I the only one thinking that SC2 was so terrible that Blizzard had to re-master the old SC? This is just an attempt at keeping a dying game mode alive, 1v1, it won't work.
Social gaming is the trend, SC and SC2 are based on 1v1, it simply won't be a big eSport because of that, that time has passed.

I've seen multiple screen shots of the proper settings to have for it to launch correctly, is there a good thread for setup?

But be advised MCA has no intentions of updating mca64Launcher to work with either 1.18 or Remastered. If you choose to continue using the launcher you WILL be stuck on 1.16.1.

MCA should basically just be ready to launch and go right from the download, if you have bw installed. The only issues that came up with me for broodwar consistently were colour glitches, but MCA has a feature pre-set to fix that as well. Shouldnt have any issues.

What are you talking about? SC1 has been growing in players and viewership.

Dont take the bait dude, he only has one post. He's probably an alt of someone who just wants to start a flame war.
