Supply leads don't mean much when your plan is to get fast T3 and go for the kill while your opponent's plan is countering exactly that. We haven't seen Polt match up against a zerg that wants to go into the lategame for real and not into early ultra attack, so maybe Snute can do better but I think he'll just get killed before reaching lategame, if he beats Hydra.

I think Snute matches up way better than vs Polt though, he will just sit back and defend all the drops, instead of doing an ultra attack while dying to drops. Hydra looked beatable in zvz, but I think he will do just fine in ZvT. The final should not be a stomp imo. Thing is Hydra didn't look great vs Happy, Snute didn't look so strong vs MaSa and MajOr... I don't think it will be a stomp either, but I think Polt is gonna take it without too much fear (4-1 or 4-2). I'd say Snute looked /really/ strong against MajOr's style in g1, which is very similar to what Polt's doing. Happy on the other hand played very different to Polt, no? In fact I didn't watch all Happy games but it seems he played mostly multitask based bio. And yeah Snute looked alright because he won, but MajOr missed many opportunities Polt won't miss.

Which may be a little bit of a pickle, if the country they happen to be in does not want to keep them indefinitely. Hence the asylum.

It's not like there's much choice for South Korea. If you have a crazy aggressive military dictatorship 30 miles from your capital you need to be prepared for the worst.

I very much dislike the roach ravager ultra style, but also realize mlb is harder to pull off these days. Solar used it once yesterday vs speed and looked pretty sharp though, seems viable sometimes.

I'm talking about WCS itself specifcally, not the circuit tournaments. If you take those into account Zergiica's statement makes even less sense, because Polt can't participate in any of those (without going to open qualifiers on site) just like any other Korean.

Therefor, I'd say Snute matches up better against Polt stylistically than any zerg he's faced so far, although Polt is still on-point so it'll be hard. But, I'd say it'd be a pretty tight set overall. 4-2, maybe 4-3, Polt.

Damned, I woke up too late ... how were the matches? Easy walktrough? BlizzCon 2016 pre-play?

Polt does this only because he knows that's how Nerchio plays, it's probably far easier for him to beat Snute because even MajOr with random drops had the game won vs Snute

Just imagine, Blizzcon this year could have 6 matches identical to or more onesided than Polt vs Nerchio to start the tournament. What an amazing system.

just to add, last year's WCS season one result : winner Polt, runner up Hydra. So indeed if you look at it like a WCS, nothing has changed, if you look at it like IEM katowice, though...
Let's just say IEM Katowice doens't exist anymore
