Watch it:
OversKy vs Jaedong May 7th 2008
+ Show Spoiler +Jaedong was behind the whole time, first with 12hatch against 9pool, then having to cancel the hatch, then losing 4 drones to the early lings (even after some pimpish drone delay micro). JD had to go all scourge to try to even things up, but OversKy responded with some nice muta micro to get some free scourge kills, and waves of lings. I'm in awe at the outcome of this game. JD did eventually get a hatch at his nat, but he never really got to mine it that much. How did he manage to pull this off? This marks Jaedong's 10th consecutive win in ZvZ, and it's well deserved.
In other news, I haven't played SC as much lately. I had a busy couple weeks with work, and then I got a new computer. I've played a few games recently, but I'm having a bit of trouble adapting to the new keyboard. All the games I played in the past were on my laptop, so I'm used to a flat, relatively condensed keyboard layout. Now, when I try to 5sh6sh7sh I sometimes 5dh6dh7dh instead. Very sucky, but I'll get used to it soon enough.

yeah this game was a huge head-scratcher
i don't know how he pulled this one off

oops forgot spoiler + Show Spoiler + Yeah that was an amazing game... he consistently had the better unit choices and micro, it was nuts. The scourging from all angles was sick. And I thought it would be over when oversky went to counter the scourge-ling with pure ling, but then Jaedong had already stopped producing scourge and had muta-ling to stop that.
You could also see the confidence difference with Jaedong taking his nat expo while oversky built his in main.

+ Show Spoiler +His scourge work was magnificent in this game. But still, I think if Oversky had attacked JD's drones more often in the game, or at least made sure the battles were over the drones instead of nothing for the bounce kills, he would have done it. If he couldn't outmicro JD's scourge usage, then he needed to stop him from making them.
|
+ Show Spoiler +As beastly as JD's ZvZ is, he probably would've lost that game to any other Zerg from one of the other teams. Everything was just stacked against him, all his opponent needed to do was fully take advantage of that.

Yeah, if semioldguy/thedeadhaji still did those Starcraft weekly game watch threads (Starcraft TiVo, Starcraft Playback), this would be on it.

i watched this game earlier and had the same reaction
+ Show Spoiler +seriously, how the hell did he win?! oversky must be really embarrased to have lost this, but jaedongs 12 hatch build was stupidly risky zvz.

zvz is fun. when it comes to guerilla sort of tactics where one side has mutas and has to run them around.

haha I had a hard time adjusting to this keyboard... I can't remember how many games I've thrown away because I try to do something like 4sd5sd6sd7ds ect. and end up doing something like 4ss5ss6ss7ss and just mass scourge and then pretty much have to gg (because i've just wasted all of my gas, and larva... and they don't even have air units.... it's embarrassingly n00b)
But yea... He's nearing 70% zvz isn't he?
