If AI desires provinces of Your Vassal it projects -relations/rivalries on You. You cant protect Yourself that way anymore.

So, i have tried to get to Peace of Westphalia soon to lose the imperial authority deficit from heretic princes. However, the league just won't form. I have 2 heretic electors, the year is past 1550, anybody gat an idea how to get this going? do i have to lose my good standing with them?

I remember having a similar question/problem and iirc I read something like an elector needs to convert AFTER 1550 to trigger leagues, not sure if accurate though

That would suck :D Those centers of reformation are completely op. I forced religious unity on one of those reformed bastards and the next time i checked he was back to heretic. And if the league does not fire, i will never see positive authority gain ever again. fufufu. MAybe Trier gets converted, let's see.

You only get the religious peace after the emporer is unchallenged for some time, when and how the leagues form shouldn´t matter, so you probably are stuck regarding that anyway :/

I got into religious leagues, yay

Now i declared a no cb war on bohemia to trigger the peace of westphalia, but sadly that did not work. First, my league did not join, so it got a bit more interesting as it should have been. And next, it looks like the protestants need to declare the war for it to count? Got to white peace with just a minore coalition firing, losing half my manpower reserves and using the commonwealthball that had just 100% ottomans. Oh well, i don't think they will declare on me, so i guess catholics win and i have to edmand religious conversion on everyone.

Are lucky nations on? AFAIK, some nations like France, Austria and the Ottoman Empire have a hidden bonus.

Lucky nations are always "ON" while playing ironman. I am also pretty sure lucky nations did get +10% morale at some point in time. Not sure if this is still in the game. Also leader maneuver and army compostion might affaect battle. Ie. if You have too much cavalry in battle, your army will get negative modifier. And some nations might have a lot of mercaneries with different units stats (like burgundy in the begining of the game).

Wait, what? Lucky nations get 33% manpower regeneration? Rofl, now i finally understand France. This is the biggest hidden bonus ever. I always just thought they would get better generals on top of some diplomatic bonuses and better monarchs. No wonder the Archbishopric of Paris, aka France refuses to die to the surrounding nations

So, see this small stack of commonwealth troops in Russia? At the new month, it ticked up from 139k. So, no, AI does not take attrition based on all armies in a province but individual stack sizes

I love it to be right! ^^

Also, notice that yellow blob in the south eastern corner of the screen? That is neither the Golden horde, nor Spain. That is Muscovy :D Dealing with those blobs will be fun :D

But I feel like the AI unrivals you more often now. I am playing as Teutonic Order into Prussia at the moment and France rivaled me which didnt really make sense since our borders are so far away. It made me kinda upset too since they wouldve made a great ally against the ottomans and the HRE and we also had a rival in common. So although they rivaled me I still increased opionions with them and after a while they unrivaled me and now we are allies. I had a similar case in another match.

In earlier playthroughts I felt the ai only unrivals you when they can no longer consider you a rival by mechanics, it was hopeless.

They can reinforce faster than attrition kills if that's 5% attrition. Default reinforce on hostile territory is 50 men/month I think, it goes up to 100 if maneuver 5 general and can be increased more by reinforce speed advisor.

Uhm, have you done the math? They would need a reinforce tick of 8k to get that accomplished. 140k men on 5% attrition is 7k attrition deaths, they gained 1k. Even if we assume the reinforce advisor with 33% and a manoever general, they are reinforcing 1862 at best. i am not sure how much the manoever of the general reduces the unit weigth, but it should reduce it by so much that the attrition tick is 1k smaller then the reinforcing.

Assuming there is 140 units in this stack maximum reinforcments are 140*50=7k (no maneuver gen) 14k with 5 lvl maneuver. And 18 620 with 5lvl gen and reinforc advisor. 23200 if they also have supply trains (defensive idea).
