So, has anyone here experience with the religious leagues? The wike states that after thirty years of not having been attacked by the protestant league as emperor, the leagues disband and my religion becomes state religion. That hasn't happened in a long time though. I tried triggering the peace of westphalia by declaring on the protestant league leader and white peacing out, but that did not help and i don't actually want to repeat it. But just waiting on an event that won't come means losing dozens of imperial authority and having to break up a more and more unmanageable HRE. How do end the leagues?

Maybe the protestants have to initiate the league war? In my game the religious leagues didn't even form. The emperor just declared glorious catholicism around 1650 and it had no impact at all on the HRE, since there were no protestant or reformed electors. One of the reformation centers was on Rhodes.

which CB did you use for the war? I once read that declaring with a religious CB on the league-leader works, but can´t find any source right now
Unfortunatly I did most of my HRE games when early revoking still was a thing, so idk to much about the league mechanics :/

I used a no cb war. I haven't touched any german cores yet because i wanted as little points spent on the region as possible. I could try to imperbial liberation a neighbour, take rhe province and then declare cleansing of heresy, but the protestant league is kinda scary on its' own, especially when everyone and their dog has a star fort in their province. There was a time when the fort mechanic made wars much faster because 5 cannons were enough to get +3 siege value every tick, now that you need 15 cannons to break even on the fort, it's really meh. Which is why i did not try to fight them yet, it's such a waste of world conquest time compared to just waiting for the event. In my previous game, i joined the protestant league and after some time, the emperor just won and the leagues disappeared. Why wonÄt it happen for me?

I haven´t experienced the religious peace before 1600 yet, without a league war, so maybe you just got incredible lucky last time? :/
Anyway, if you haven´t invested too much reforms yet, you should be fine as you can rush them later with adding cores (which you should have enough provinces to do if you wanna wc), getting a nice foothold in asia to start conquering there, and therefore prepping the add province instareformes is more important imo, if you dont need to vassal swarm to blobb all over the place.

Decided to try an Ottoman game in 1.13. I had this huge coalition against me including Morocco. I improved relations with them and they left. After declaring war on them the coalition war triggers lol.

I am doing a little colonization game as Spain at the moment. I lucked out and got the Iberian Wedding in 1495, you cant get it after 1500. But at the same time the biggest bullshit ever happens. Around 1480 France manages to get Austria in a PU under them and now continental Europe is pretty much dead zoned. Out of desperation and after France integrated Austria around 1580 the electors in the HRE now made me the emperor and I can barely field half the amount of troops France has :D

I'm not sure if you can trigger the event with, I think they have to declare on you.
I can confirm that in 1.12 if they dont dow the emperor 30 years after it formed the protestant league disbands and catholic becomes state religion, including the emperor getting the ability to force convert.

I didnt find confirmation about this, but since people wrote that the centers of reformation stopped existing between 1600 and 1700, I believe that they disappear after the league wins or disbands.

Played a bit with Austria in 1.13 last week (trying to get all HRE reforms). The protestant league was incredibly weak (leader switching between Brandenburg and Norway a few times) so they didn't declare war on me at all and after what could very well be the 30 years catholic became the official religion of the HRE and the league disbanded.
So basically can confirm as well.

I'm finally up to date when it comes to DLCs, just couldn't resist anymore. Since I never bothered reading up big chunks of information about the game and haven't watched others play, I'm still learning so much new stuff every playthrough, especially when I add some sprinkles of knowledge from the occasional reddit browsing...

So I went for Korea since I liked their ideas but Ming actually made me ragequit twice around ~1550 since I just couldn't stop them. Played nice all the time until they decided to want all my provinces. In my 3rd attempt I force converted to Animism, because I haven't fooled around with rebels before and I learned that religious decisions boni stay even after you change your states religion. For quite some time it seemed they don't want my provinces despite being rivals. I thought the different religion would do the trick until I westernized and would eventually become stronger. Of course they decided to want 30ish provines again over night and I was about to quit again because they're so ridiculously strong somehow (iirc they had almost twice the army of kebab).
I just fed them ~350% warscore worth of provinces right at the beginning of the war but decided to watch for a bit before quitting the game and boy was I in for a pleasant surprise after a couple of months:

Never seen such huge rebel stacks :D

I think having all those provnices be animist helped a lot and it was super easy to convert everything to catholic during westernization. The negative ~100 power projection was pretty annoying for almost a hundred years but in the end I managed to blob quite well, my very own big blue blob so to speak:

I just played a game as GB and it made me sick. its so easy to be rolling in cash even before noticeing that the new world is over there. Just hire mercenaries for days and never use manpower.

Whats the right army composition at like Tech 10... 15...20.

I mean, at which point should you go for basically use as much cannons as you got line?
At which point do a few cannons help?

I'm not the most well versed in that aspect of the game but I think the optimal composition is usually 2 mounted units + enough infantry to fill out the front line (look up your combat width at each level). Then enough cannons to fill out the back line (combat width = #cannons). Maybe add some extra infantry too since they are the meat shields and will probably die the fastest

in the early phases of the game canons are pretty bad jsut take a couple along with each army for the siege bonus

At tech 13 they start being effective in combat. If you really have too much money you can use them earlier, but that's when they start having a real impact.
