the 3s CD kinda gimps clear speed a little and being low life with no es shield means you really need shav to survive in hc. Otherwise I think build has miles more potential than typical RF fb. (+3 bow , empower, offhand trap setup to mitigate CD etc). Single target DMG would be even more insane with conc effect and higher life
*cough cough* Discharge VaalPact *cough* But really nice and an awesome clearspeed. Tbh everything around 4minutes is a crazy good clearspeed for shipyards.
So does anyone have a Shav's on Standard that you don't want and is just taking up space? A bit aggravating how much its lack is limiting my build. Even if I convert all my currency to Exalts (which is a quest on its own) I'm still barely halfway to affording one, having grinded maps until level 93.
The video just reminds me of my build theorycrafting, in the end I always end up with "Burning Prolif-something". When Act 4 comes out I'll definetely avoid burning prolif at all cost

This is why it's not recommended for new players to play Standard - you are competing with everyone who has currency built up over the years.
Just wait until the next temp league, roll at the beginning of that league, and buy a Shavs there.

He's close to one shotting rare necros, and those are pretty tanky.
damage spike from each hit is damn high, his build can beat atziri now (using trap-mirrorarrow) hes going for uber with +3 bow with empower
Hey all, I'm completely new and I'm looking for a good super-low-budget templar build that can get me through the end of merciless and beyond. I just hit 63 with dual flame totems but I'm pretty squishy and it's getting hard to not randomly get 1-shot every now and then. The options I have are a little intimidating so I was hoping good old TL would help me out and point me in the right direction
You probably just need to get better gear. Make sure you have 75% for the three elemental resists, and have life on as many pieces of gear as possible. Some ways to help are running purity of elements linked to reduced mana (should only be like 1/4 of your mana), and master crafting life onto your gear if you can. Don't bother using the top tier recipe which needs chaos though, the 4 alch one (or however much the 2nd tier one is) is good enough usually.
Apart from that, you should look at your flasks. Mods on flasks that you should look for are anti bleed, anti curse and instant (for hp). You can also consider getting some resist ones (ruby, sapphire, topaz) which will help against big elemental hits. Finally, a granite or jade is always nice to have-- try to have +armor or +evasion during flask effect respectively on those. A quicksilver with some sort of defensive stat (I prefer it to be my anti bleed so running doesn't kill me) is also nice.
Those are the general tips. If you can, take a screenshot of your character's defensive stats and link your skill tree. I'm sure someone here an probably elaborate based on that.
EDIT: Oh if you're looking for a budget faceroll build for a new character, I guess you should try an incinerator. Personally haven't played one, but it's apparently stupid tanky and has a pretty decent clear. Either that, or you could do facebreaker cyclone/infernal blow, burn prolif (explosive arrow is pretty decent still) or arc character.
by your level you should start reaching 4k health, with all resists capped. roll seething (instant recovery) divine life flasks and have a granite flask of iron skin.
like ticklish above said i think you should link your skill tree and also the gear/gems you use, could do with more refinements maybe and help you learn how to optimise tree properly
^I took a quick look at some builds, and it seems that Flame totem Templars tend to be kind of squishy (ex. a crit one had ~3k hp at lvl 84, obviously softcore). While that may be a rather extreme example, maybe around 3K hp at lvl 63 might be more reasonable?
Still, totem characters are pretty reliant on positioning, which is one of the more nuanced parts of the game. Knowing what size/type of pack your totems can safely kill, maximum agro range and other things like that take time to pick up.
EDIT: Also currently leveling up a summoner... thoughts on what the best spectre is? Evangelist, Flame Sentinel or Alchemist?
Also since I'm on Torment (and don't care *that* much about survivability) is Vis Mortis a good idea? I kind of like the idea of 4 spectres (with Midnight Bargain), and I'd probably still be around 6k ES though I'm unsure if I could cap my resists. I'd just run Rainbowstrides instead of Bones of Ullr. Or, I could go Bones of Ullr and Prism Guardian/ some super nice shield... so many choices.

If you also use Zombies I think Evangelists are the way to go (last time I checked that was the "meta" for summoners). You then can run hatred with generosity which will buff both of them since evangelist spells are physical.
...and they nerf mirror arrow clone health by 80% while making them more dmg resistant by 80% in response to the mirror arrow burn prolif build. so funny
i wonder if the nerf was actually implemented only after thoroughly tested a related char on their own rather than just a kneejerk reaction to that 6man courtyard vid oneshotting everything with relatively cheap gear.

You shouldn't be able to do that. Knee jerk reaction very justified.
