Larva was easily the favorite to advance first from group F that otherwise included Sharp, Pure and By.Spire. However, Pure wasn't particularly impressed with these predictions and decided to advance first himself. Find out whether Larva managed to advance anyway and what the two advancing players had on their minds.
Beating By.Spire in the first match and then stomping Larva in the winners' match on Fighting Spirit, Pure noted the lack of Zergs in this Starleague will play into his hands. He will sure need that with his 27.78% winrate. What is Pure's excuse for his initial 1-19 SoSPA record?
Thoughts on advancing to round of 16?
It looks like I'm finally coming to my own. I'm not satisfied reaching round of 16 and want to go even further. I will prepare for future matches like I had done for today.
You had the image of a weak player in PvZ. How did you overcome this?
Most of the games I played up until recently were right after I was discharged from the military so my results couldn't be good. Now it seems my skill is rising a bit. During the time streaming I brushed up on my skills and was able to overcome the PvZ problem.
Last season you were eliminated early on in the round of 32.
I lost to a Zerg and a Terran then. If I were to make an excuse, my skills were on the very bottom of my potential back then. A year has gone by and I practised a lot.
You seemed a bit nervous in your game against by.Spire.
I wasn't able to warm up as much as I'd need in the first game, so I made a lot of mistakes. Letting zerglings sneak by was the biggest one.
Larva is considered a strong competitor in the Sonic Starleagues.
Larva gained his good reputation in these Starleagues. Before the competition I recalled my experiences as a progamer and thought I should play confidently and focus on my own play.
With your control it seemed like the units were alive.
Since I won the first game I was able to control my corsairs and overall play well. Since I wasn't nervous I won.
There aren't many Zergs in this Starleague. That seems to greatly improve your chances.
Even if there were many Zergs I wouldn't worry about it. Today skill level isn't so good. From what I've seen it seems to have dropped. (laughs) Still, the less Zergs the better.
Your goals?
I want to keep going further. I may not have a specific round in mind but I want to play at OGN's studio as much as I can. I will prepare hard for the remaining games.
Any words?
I want to greet my fans, it's been a long time. I hope Brood War fans have a good time watching this Starleague and I think I'll have a good time too.

Larva had little trouble beating Sharp twice but to his disappointment he lost to Pure in the winners' match. What was the reason and how does he feel about finally making an OGN broadcast?
What are your thoughts on advancing?
I didn't like my performance so not good.
Which part of your performance specifically?
My unit control is usually good but it was a mess in today's games.
In the winners' match you lost to Pure, a weak ZvPer.
I decided to play the game safe. Because I was a level below my opponent I didn't play boldly and just kept adjusting to Pure's build which I think lost me the game.
After you lost the big engagement against Sharp in the final match, it seemed like the momentum shifted.
I had no thoughts of losing. I was sure that I would win as long as I change my army composition.
You will be playing at Yongsan stadium in the round of 16.
I'm thrilled to be playing at the "dream stage". I hope to show cool games reflecting my effort in practice.
What is your goal in this competition?
If you're a man you of course have to aim for first place. If I go all the way to the finals, I'll need to have an eye out for hero.
Any words?
I want to thank Jinmook hyung (PianO) for helping me practise. It's the end of the year so I hope I can finish without receiving any criticism from my viewers. (laughs)
