It seems believable since HiyA recently said on stream that he will participate because Kongdoo was getting slammed online and Killer posted a message saying that he would be in SSL10. The other rumor that is being repeated a lot now is that Sonic and Kongdoo/HungryApp were originally working on SSL10 together but Sonic had to drop Kongdoo/HungryApp after his shot in the dark at an OGN broadcast was unexpectedly successful. Kongdoo/HungryApp was supposedly pissed since HungryApp is trying to break into the space that OGN is currently occupying, but the two parties eventually decided just to run two separate leagues. That rumor seems somewhat puzzling. I'm inclined to be skeptical. Sonic has been broadcasting with OGN employees Lee Seung-won, Kim Carry, and Um Jaegyung since the Sbenu Proleague (which preceded SSL9). Sonic has said before that Kim Carry was instrumental in getting OGN on board for SSL10. Some them even participated in SSL9 despite the fact that they're OGN employees. As far as I know, they're not freelancers. It almost makes me suspect that OGN was feeling out how much of a potential market there might still be for BW. If HungryApp was working with Sonic all this time, then why weren't their broadcasting talent made available to SonicTV? Unfortunately, given that Sonic has delayed his announcements on SSL10, we will have to wait a little longer to learn what's going on.

A bit surprised Sea potentially wouldn't be participating. If the Kongdoo vs Sonic dispute holds true, I hope Kongdoo doesn't exert their influence to dissuade others to not participate in SSL 10. The list of Kongdoo-represented active players includes, as far as I see from their website, Bisu, Sea, Jaehoon, Shuttle, Movie, Mong, HiyA, hero, ZerO, and Killer Just checking out Ygosu and Pgr21, some really lively discussion/speculation going on, although Google Translate can't make out a good 75% of the posts

Most Korean posts are against SSL and should this rumour be true will be disaster Wut. If true why would this be the case? What do the Korean netizens think/know that we don't?

It alao might have been better for Sonic to withhold this pandora's box until the player roster reveal, what did he really expect or was he trying to incite netizens for his advantage? If so, current speculation is destroying him. Most Korean posts are against SSL and should this rumour be true will be disaster - even if it is false, that still means "netizen" witch hunt likely pivot to Kongdoo again, horrifyingly bad situation for the scene. Well, we don't want drama, but the trolls crawling the Korean interwebs certainly do. I'd like to think that they're just a vocal minority. It's certainly the case on Sonic's Afreeca page. The same handful of troublemaker IDs insulting Sonic for "making a mockery of the viewers" by repeatedly delaying the league. Not even for possible schedule conflicts, but merely for delaying!!! The prior delays freaking brought BW back to OGN for xxxxs sake. I cannot possibly attribute such comments to sane people. Anyhow, yeah. Waiting for the end of drama.

He's chatting away and playing series with PianO and Bisu now, so I'm curious if he's practicing

Didn't see him mentioned anywhere personally apart from a few sad fans' cries. No updates on his facebook or afreeca. Sonic said he has always been able to pull out cards noone has even thought of, could one of those be Jangbi?

Looking at this interview http://sports.news.naver.com/sports/index.nhn?category=e_sports&ctg=news&mod=read&office_id=347&article_id=0000063549 The massively top rated comments (+600 -30) here all cherish Sonic's efforts. Btw. I'll start working on the interview tomorrow, unless you want to go for it lemmata ^^

That rumor seems somewhat puzzling. I'm inclined to be skeptical. I think there might just be a difference between a rumour and bald uninformed speculation of some person on the internet. Like a rumour is something where a fact that can't be verified is revealed, like a friend of a friend on the inside said some thing is the case (but that person can't be revealed, or it's only an anecdote). This sounds like someone just saying things that might be true, in basically the same way conspiracy theorists say things that might be true (but have no basis in reported evidence). I think we can do without translations and reports of the latter lol. Even rumours are borderline worthless.

Yea , this seems like a bunch of non koreans trying to use google translate / body language to figure out what the Koreans are doing. I honestly think all the EX BW Pro gamers understand / know a little more about what is going on than we do, and I honestly think they love the game just as much / more than we do, so it would be a little illogical on there part to do anything to hurt BW especially in the current state it is in now. I think all of these top tier BW players get along with each other in the long run, and they are a lot more tightly knit than Korean SC2 I feel, so in the end I think they all want what is best for BW.

in the daum cafe (http://cafe.daum.net/sonicama) it's the most recent post (12/14) and the post before that says that like 200 people sent in the application (if google translate serves me well) for the 128 man qualifier I see no noticeable names on that list, and I actually don't know how many are supposed to qualify from the 128 man team (bracket obviously generated out to last round) do we actually know if it is limited to 32 people for ssl 10? Just theorycrafting, but the past few "major" tournaments (ssl 9, lovetv starleague s2, most recent 41 starleague season 2) still have ~4-6 "lesser" name players, amateurs even. The point being that I don't recognize any ex-pros in that bracket, and there are potentially a lot of people that could be given an invite once you get to that 24-28 invites needed range. For example, the just announced 41 starleague s3 has people like lazy/cola/icarus that have been around for a while but I could easily see be left out of the "invite" pool. I suppose anyone could have lost in the qualifiers though. [Ninja edit--my question being OSL used to have ro36, then had dual tournaments. Is it possible for ssl10 to have staggered invite, i.e. some straight to the group stage] Sidenote: how many pOse's are there? I guess he's the organizer of 41 starleague but people seem to copy his id lol. I guess I have heard of olympus/one of the pOse's from previous sonic starleagues (7-9) and looking up olympus he had been in the sonic proleague thing. I guess we'll find out soon haha. I can't wait :/

Looks like things just wrapped up, with [NeOx]SSaL victorious. I imagine Olympus, Mighty, and other previous SSL participants were notified they weren't selected for the final field, so felt encumbered to go through these qualifiers...

A 'fun fact' is that a guy behind a pretty famous BW Revival page on facebook also tried his luck. He reported his run into the Ro32, where he sadly lost -[NeOx]donghwani. pOse is just a clan btw.

Quick and dirty translation: This is BJ Sonic. Despite the absence of official word from SonicTV or HungryApp, rumors from third parties have been spread as if they were true. HungryAppTV has directly posted a reply in the threads. Hello, this is HungryApp. We would like to inform you that SonicTV and HungryAppTV are currently cooperating to make both leagues a success and the above posts have no relation with HungrayApp. Both companies will try hard to make both starleagues awesome. Please cheer us on. There was nothing for me to explain in the first place. I never posted a reply or even spoke about this matter. I hope that people will stop talking about these rumors as if they were true. I will put a lot of effort into making this starleague a success. Thank you. So it seems like good news. If Sonic and HungryApp are working together as Sonic says, then schedule conflicts may not be an issue. Just to give Sonic's message more context, there were many posts made by someone claiming to have inside information that Sonic had stabbed HungryApp in the back. Recently, Sea spoke on stream and said that other than himself and Bisu, all the progamers we care about will play in SSL10. Sea was not forthcoming about his own motivations for doing so, but this is still good news because it means that all the other top players will still be there. He also claimed that Pusan and Jaehoon were not invited. Jaehoon was twice caught cheating during sponsored matches by watching the streams by using his phone, which earned him the nicknames sharingan and "Ma Jaehoon". It may be the case that Sonic and OGN are excluding any players who might give the league bad publicity. Sonic had previously confirmed here that Terror and Jaehoon were not invited. The news didn't get much play here, but, during his ban from Afreeca, Terror was caught on stream being a sales agent for illegal betting sites. Given how serious that stuff is, I think we can understand why excluding Terror is a good idea. Terror fans have been spamming various Afreeca pages trying to badger Sonic into including him over the last month.
