Can you not re-bind keys? You can rebind some keys but not all. On top of that there is no auto-attack, so you need to spam click your mouse like you were playing Diablo to attack your enemy. There is no auto-run key, there is no take all key when looting. You can't move while holding down both mouse buttons (like in WoW) which is much needed in these kinds of combat where you need to spam your abilities which are key-bound; WoW players know what I am talking about here. The view in tactical mode is poorly implemented also. There is no locked-on feature during combat so if your character is melee, and your target is constantly moving like the majority of the enemies are in this game, you need to use WASD movement keys plus 1 2 3 4 -ability keys plus constantly spam clicking R or your mouse. So basically the PC port is not built for humans but built for octopuses. That sounds horrible. Is there auto-attacks on console version? I feel like I should just keep playing origins if its as bad as it seems.
Well with a controller you auto-attack by holding the Right Trigger. Im enjoying the combat alot to be honest, even though im using a controller, it fits well, fighting has some weight to it, imo.

On console there is a button to hold down for auto attack. In tactical view u can order them to do your bidding, just like in Origins.

The controls on the controller are really nice and don't cause any problems, as people have said. You can switch between characters very quickly and give orders. Comboing is super easy too. The combat has been super enjoyable.

It does cause problems if you do not own a controller....

We live in the future where you should always own a controller for you PC. Not doing so make it so you miss out on a ton of really good ports to PC on the super cheap. It was one of the best $15 purchase I made.

It won't be for a long time either. It's using Denuvo DRM, like FIFA15 for example. FIFA15 wasn't "hacked" (cracked ) so far after two months.
Apart from that, those bs-stories about DenuvoDRM that get spread here now too are already debunked. It's not true. Denuvo is the one DRM so far that i don't mind, it's no hassle (unlike starforce for example) for legit buyers, and it does what it's supposed to do.
Apart from that, in all honesty, 99% of the people calling for cracks "to check if they wanna buy it" are simply liars anyway. With so many livestreams, let's plays, reviews and whatnot out there, it's simple to form an opinion.

I'm with Plansix there though. Obviously you don't really get a Controller for RPGs only, but there's many blockbuster games out there where it makes sense. Basically every 3rd Person game runs on controller for me (next to a HOTAS X and a £800 rig for racing games). And with the prices nowadays (4 bucks or smth for a chinese xbox knockoff, works just fine - from experience).. Yeah. It's a minor inconcenience at best.
Apart from the obvious fact that the kb/mouse controls actually work. It's not unplayable like Farcry4s mousecontrols prepatch, where you literally couldn't aim properly.

having to play an rpg with inferior hardware simply because it's poorly ported sounds more like the past than anything else.

The problem is why the games are made for inferior hardware so it ends up looking more or less the same as the last generation game did on pc

Sure i get that if you want to play console games on your PC, you will get a controller. The problem is when i have to buy a controller because they did a terrible job with the PC controls. Specially when this DAI was suppossed to be a "go back to the RPG roots". LoL.
C'mon, you can't pass blame on the players for bitching about terrible control for PC, just because "at this age and hour you shall have a controller for your PC."

Well for starters, Diablo is the most similar to DA:I and can be played with a controller, as is evidenced by Diablo 3 being on consoles. Your other games are either MMO's or TBS/RTS games, which have never and likely will never be suitable for controllers. What point are you trying to make? All he said is that there are many blockbuster games where using a controller makes sense, it doesn't mean it makes sense for all of them.
I don't think it's ok for KB/Mouse controls to be shit because "hey people can just use a controller," but in the event that they ARE shit, well...people can just use a controller. I'm with Plansix in that my controller has already paid for itself in the enjoyment I got out of Dark Souls/Dark Souls 2/Spelunky, so if I get a game that controls better with it, sure I'll break it out.
People act like a controller is some piece of peasant hardware, and I think they are projecting their opinion of consoles onto controllers as well. Depending on the game and the situation, controllers can be way more fun than KB/Mouse controls (IMO of course).

I think I specifically said if that issue is a hang up, its not the game for you. I don't have a problem with it, since I am playing the game on my couch with my fiancee. Its clearly a bummer for people who don't have a controller or really wanted to play with the mouse and keyboard.
Has anyone tried the Battlemaster tree yet? Is is any good? The warhorn abilities seem like they might be pretty awesome.

SC2: you could've listed ALL strategy games there pretty much. I thought at least a tiny bit of common sense was expectable on TL.
Diablo3 is playable via controller (fun fact, works better), DOTA/CIV/LOL again, Strategygames. WoW is totally playable via controller, so is guildwars. Not recommended, but if you want, you can, so i don't know what point you're trying to make.
But if you can sleep better at night, i say "blockbusters except strategygames". If that helps to ease your mind. Even though it's wrong, since Xcom was absolutely lovely with pad.
edit: apart from the obvious fact that "many blockbusters" doesn't equal "all blockbusters".

On one hand I don't care that I would have to use a controller (I got one from my ps3) but on the other hand I don't find it logical to have to use one if the game wants me to use the tactical mode.
It just seems like a wasted opportunity for good CRPG gameplay. Also it's hard to justify the price asked if it's just a port with no considerations for better control or optimization.

The tactical mode would be an argument, if it actually were good. But it isn't, because you can't zoom out far enough. For me at least. Even if the enemy is just 10m away, you have to scroll around. My only gripe with the game so far.
Also it's hard to justify the price asked if it's just a port with no considerations for better control or optimization.
Wat? I bought mine for less than 35 euros (including some DLC for two weapons, dragonsword and mace), i think that's more than fine for a game that comes for 70+ on consoles. If that already is too much to ask, then i don't know. Especially with a game that has 80 hours+ for the mainstory only.
|
ok what is going on with the reasoning here, this is some serious bistromathics.
Controller being much better is good because the games tactical mode is useless because they only let you zoom out a tiny distance.
Anyways, having bad mouse support is only acceptable for games that rely on analoge movement directions, such as driving games, dark souls type games etc. This game is far from needing it, so there is only greed as a reason that noone took time to implement proper PC controls.
I dont know where you are from or how questionable your cd key is, but 35 euro is NOT the listing price for this game.

The controller is better because they decided to base the game on that. The tactical mode is useless with both control-schemes. I don't know what is hard to understand there. The only argument for m/kb would've been the tactical mode, which is shit/broken. That's it's own issue though, it's not a controller/mouse problem. And as i said a couple of times, something that i have a gripe with.
Funny btw that you talk about analogue movement, which the game has. Players who play with controllers, that is. Keyboard players don't. You don't NEED it, no. You don't NEED it in racing games either, apart from simulations, which then again can't be played by pad either.

The CD Key is absolutely legit, the game is activated in origin (as is my Sims 4, and many, MANY other games) - if you pay the RRP/Empfohlener Verkaufspreis, you don't get to complain.
