Its always funny seeing the professional reviewers give the game 90%+ almost universally, and then you see nearly half the people who played the game absolutely revile it. How is there such a disconnect? If the user reviews are any indication, the people who wrote the dialogue are actually illiterate, the story is generic, the keyboard + mouse controls are poor, the combat is about mashing buttons or clicking on things repeatedly...and your actions have no influence on the game world (i've confirmed the second last from viewing a gameplay video on twitch). I think I'll pass. If it was just a few disgruntled people I might ignore it, but I can't ignore such a large number of people as just being bias against EA. Thanks for helping me save my money!
edit: By the way there is a hilarious review by a user named "Dragon Knight" who gave it a 10/10 just as a joke. Just read his review...its so great Not sure i see the hilarity in his review, nor do i think his 10/10 score is a joke. Maybe im reading it wrong. You are reading it wrong.
lol i guess sarcasm doesn't come off so well in text form for me. its a real problem.

I'm worried about the bad KB+M controls. Is it borderline unplayable, or just not the most comfortable? If it's the latter, I think i'll endure it.

I'm really depressed by anyone who got scared away from ME3 because of talk about the ending. Everything else about the game is literally a step above everything (bar an emperor strikes back leaning twords ME2) else.
The KB/M problems are really confusing me on how thats even a problem. Just a really odd mistake you'd think would be fixed like every other game.

I don't actually understand what's meant with bad keyboard/mouse controls. It took a while to get used to it, like half an hour or so - but after that, it works totally fine? Apart from the occasional swing at the vendor?
Yes, need towers to open map areas please, best mechanic 2000+
*cough*farcry 4*coughcough*
edit: the only thing that really annoys me, is the camera in tactical view. For that to be feasable, you would have to increase the zoom by like 500%, i don't want to count pimples on my characters face in what is supposed to be a tactical view.

50-60 bucks is too much for any game..

Just spent a couple hours with the game and its pretty great. All the parts I liked about DAO are there, comboing magic with special attacks to cause huge damage, fun characters and way to much crafting. The game throws you in the deep end fast and I am swimming in elf root and so many crafting materials it hurts.
I am playing from my couch, so I am using a controller and its fine. You only need to tell people to cast spell on special creatures every once an a while and your mages are pretty good about shielding you and give you buffs. The potion system is pretty great as well, since you only have a limited number, there is no potion spam. The combat kinda reminds me of the Witcher a little bit, where you set up your heroes before the fights and then rock monster's worlds.
The review bombing is over blown and a lot of the stuff seems to be people upset that the game isn't Divinity, Original Sin or Pillars of Eternity with a 50 million dollar budget. Its bed time now, but I will report more later.

The more I watch some videos, the more I feel like I'm watching a MMO with cutscenes. Same combat, same fetch/kill quests in open areas. Random loots with stats increments.
They must be testing the crowd for a Dragon Age online.
Meh.

Metacritic is still ripping the PC version a new ***hole. And with valid points (well some of them).

One thing to remember about the metacritic scores is that it doesn't sound like most have got very far into the game. One thing pointed out in a few critic reviews was the slow start for the game, apparently the first 15 hours or so are a bit worrying but the game opens up from there.
Also sounds like a lot of people have rose tinted glasses for DA:O, spouting the usual nonsense, expecting a huge AAA game from a major publisher to taylor a game to very specific user requirements. If you want a laugh go and compare the negative comments on the PC for DA:I and the negative reviews for DA:O for PC on metacritic, its the same old tired cycle of "argh things were better in my day and the world is a crappy place now!".
I'm looking forward to sitting down with this on Friday, age has given me a hype-shield so I'm hardly expecting some kind of ultra mind blowing experience, rather a well designed game with plenty of systems I'll likely enjoy based on what I've seen and what the reviews are saying, even if I might have to tolerate a slightly less than enthralling intro section.

Yay, already got the pre-order physical copy. Seems like the installation is at least partly from the four DVD's, so I won't need to DL for 20 hours. Still won't be able to play before tomorrow though, but I didn't expect to get it before the release date in Germany.
I'll most probably not even try the mouse + keyboard given people say it's so bad in comparison to playing with controllers.

In all honesty, i don't even really remember the first game. The second one was good, but i wouldn't say this one now is worse. It's different, and that's where people imho get angry. It's like with SC2 back in the day - it's not a new broodwar, so people started hating.
The game's fine. It's not a blockbuster, but it's good enough to be recommended for people who like RPGs (that's imo).
PS: living in the UK too, already playing. If you pre-ordered, download Softether VPN or another VPN of your choice, set it to US, and voila. The release-politics for the UK annoy the shit out of me, don't even understand why games in the UK release even later than the EU in general (DA:I, Sims4, FC4 etc). Warlords of Draenor released eu-wide at the same time, so it is possible. -,-

As was said in one of the reviews, if you like DA2 you will like DAI. If you consider DAO to be best, prepare yourself for a disappointment.

seems like button mashing and not tactical combat to me.

Its bed time now, but I will report more later. seems like button mashing and not tactical combat to me. If you put in on normal, the game is pretty easy and you can do that. I have it on hard and have told my mage to stop casting his ice spell until I tell him, so I can get off the combo between him and my main character every time. I also have a good bull rush ability that gives me armor(extra HP in the form of a barrier) and knocks people down. I think there are rogue abilities that combo off of knock down too, which I hope to get. If you are seeing people mash through combat, they likely have it on normal, where you just need to make sure you don't lose to much health.
But if you just wanted another DAO with new content, this game isn't for you. You can't potion spam or just healing spam your way through a fight. The combat is fast and more kinetic, the potion system is more like dark souls and you are not carrying around like 80 of them(which always seemed silly, your heroes carrying around a pharmacy). I'm enjoying the story so far, but I want to get deeper in.
Also I wandered to far in one of the open areas and got rocked by a dragon, so there is that.

I knew DAI's gonna be super consolized from the first impression videos from like a year ago, but it looks even worse now. Hope at least the story/dialogue is great, gameplay wise it seems like DA2 taken to an extreme.

So EA pulled the game from India. I am super sad right now.

Im getting it today, im not expecting THAT MUCH, to be fair, im excited mostly because how barren is the RPG scene nowadays, im desperate for a new one and this one seems good enough
i miss the old SNES era, those were the good times
