That's actually a really good point considering that currently the competition is so stacked in Korea that more former successful BW players may be given another option, assuming Sonic and LoveTV can keep the momentum.

I am switching more to the feeling that blizzard should ruin sc2 more and more. I am hoping that protoss will continue winning with bullshit and that blizzard will majorly screw up Lotv with more bullshit units (they do not really have a good track record considering HOTS). Its complicated: I do not have much hope anymore for blizzard and on the other hand I am happy that they screw up. That being said: I think for many former BW and now SC2 players, Broodwar is like your ex-gf you had amazing fun with amazing personality and character. She was the ONE you always imagined to be with forever until you die. Then some new girl on the town arrived who was arguably hotter and you left your ex-gf for this new girl. The first few weeks may have been exciting and thrilling as everything was new. However it became repetitive and boring after a while and you had to deal with same bullshit all the time. You thought to yourself: "Everything is gonna be better, our relationship is not figured out yet". But the deeper you got into the relationship, the more you realize how much you miss your ex-gf, how much your current relationship is going nowhere and wanting to have everything as it has been before you left her.

I really dont see the hate for blizzard and starcraft 2 . With the old favorite back, this very likely will trigger the big sponsors to host another huge BW league. The narrative will be huge: "Korea progaming goes back to its root." BW progaming will get lucrative again and will generate a lot more interests and therefore get more people playing.

Cmon, just enjoy what is happening right now and don't be so naive about this kind of stuff. Sc2 won't die over night, if anything we hear it is growing in korea (proleague) and the new addon will probably help too. Also korea is allin on lol right now, why should any kid play BW instead? It just doesn't make any sense man...

They are now are going to be the new middle class and the majority in korea now. Its not just kids who play games, whose majority prefer to play LOL. Adults who are working the whole day would rather want to watch BW than play it since it is kinda demanding. They rather play LOL to relax after a long day or watch some good ol BW.

While yes there were over 30 players in my high school football team but there are also tennis teams, swim teams and etc. While yes LoL is insanely popular over there, people will ALWAYS like to have more varieties in terms of esports. So there will definitely be kids that would want to play BW instead with different special set of skills.

I think lol is at the top of the games being played by such a huge margin that i don't see kids trying to become pro in BW tbh. Without Kespa itself i just can't see how the scene can really become "sustainable" again. But hey, maybe i am completely wrong (and tbh i would like it to be that way, i never "had the chance" to follow BW in the glory days) and BW really rises to the place where it belongs.
