I followed Day[9] when I was first messing around with SC and just recently stumbled on his dailies again. I came across the daily about how to get into SC2, which if you haven't seen can be found here
What he talks about in that video can really be applied to a lot of other learning. Once you know how to develop a skill in one thing then you can develop a skill in just about anything using a parallel approach.
I'm following Day[9]'s advice to new players that they should start becoming active in the community and want to share my learning experience through this blog. Also I hope to find some people to play and practice with to make the experience more enjoyable. I really believe that independent learning is possible and maybe better than the current system, but the community is super important. I live in Japan which might make finding practice partners difficult? I speak Japanese and English but not much Korean. And to be honest the Korean servers are a little intimidating.
I have no idea how this site's blog works or how to play SC2. I just finished my placement matches and placed in the Silver league after losing all 5 matches pretty badly.
Anyways, I hope to meet some cool people in the SC2 community, develop my skill of learning in general and my gaming skill, while having a fun time. And hopefully in the process I learn something about how things like playing SC can be applied to schools and the current learning environment.
Nice to meet you all.
