In my school, students can't talk in such calls or talk to the caller involving an absence. My parents have to notify them, lol. I didn't even pick it up or say anything at all, they don't even know why I am absent. Do your highschools take similar action in such sitautions? Yea. You get an older friend to pose as an uncle or aunt and they excuse you. In my old school you could call yourself out sick without parental notification, though. In my current chool, when you turn 18 you can call yourself out. And that's what I've been doing.

I actually ended up with those calls a lot when substitute teachers would fuck up on roll.

I don't skip classes either, just whenever I go to the dentist or doctor/eye doctor/something else. I'm not spectacular though, 3.2 GPA. I really lazy. In fact, I haven't done homework since the beginning of the school year. I still maintain at least a 70+ in classes though ;D

Work on the guilt, buddy. Continue to think for yourself. Is school truly that important? If it's not, why worry about ditching? Many brilliant and accomplished people did fine without school (not to say that you must be brilliant or accomplished to be worthy of life - that is silly.) Proud of you. Nick

Just asnwer the phone and pretend to be your dad. At my school (public) they call with an automated message so my parents weren't home or I got the phone first and just hung up they wouldn't know... But I don't really skip class so it's not an issue.

So if I skip a class I just put the phone next to my comp, and when the message comes I pick the phone up and hang up xD. Your school sounds much more strict, sorry bro. Same thing happened to me when I went to high school. One time, me and my friends decided to cut and go bowling. When we got to the bowling center, the manager asked us what school we went to (supposedly, minors aren't supposed to be there during school hours). So my friends told him the school (-.-) and they called the school up and asked if the students were released yet. Of course we weren't so we got kicked out. We ended up getting some food and coming back an hour later when someone else was running the cash register. When the day was over, I got the automated-response which I just picked up and hung up right away. When my parents pick up the phone, I just say I was late to class and they marked me absent for attendance.
