just don't make it into a habit, then it turns into avoiding resposabilities. and feel the change in you! you can now see there's more than one positive thing about it (except not getting bad grades). =) now use that feeling for good and start beeing aware of things in a different way. (you don't need to ditch your old way of thinking though, this is just a new perspective to enjoy, in addition to your old one.)

Just a wild guess, but are you asian? Liberate yourself and start cutting and LIVE LIFE. There's MUCH MORE than school work. I am Asian as in from South Asia, but I'm in a difficult life sitaution. I was beaten before when I was little but my mother stopped beating me because she thought it was horrible. She instead lectures me and mocks what I do and what I say. She wants the best of me, and by doing this, I feel I'm betraying her, because she has done so much so that I can be here where I am right now. Although for the entirety of my life I have always depended on her, and her wisdom, I never had a real dad and I have a step dad who could care less about me but himself and he would love to see my life ruined. Then there is my real father who deosn't care about me that much, who is stingy as fuck, and deosn't want to really do much about me. So pretty much I've always been depending on other people, and I have never been independant, but by doing something so radical as this I feel I'm taking the necessary steps to fight my weakness. I'm not emo, and for so many years I have been able to survive through so many things, but it all came with a price. There's a sneek peek in my life for you guys

(Actually, I don't think I've skipped an entire day, but I did miss a lot of classes I was too tired to go to in high school.) Yes, I'm Asian. my Dad actually encouraged me to sip, but my Mom was a retard and thought that 5 absences on my transcript would somehow null my University applications.

In my school, students can't talk in such calls or talk to the caller involving an absence. My parents have to notify them, lol. I didn't even pick it up or say anything at all, they don't even know why I am absent. Do your highschools take similar action in such sitautions? Yea. You get an older friend to pose as an uncle or aunt and they excuse you. In my old school you could call yourself out sick without parental notification, though. In my current chool, when you turn 18 you can call yourself out. And that's what I've been doing.

I actually ended up with those calls a lot when substitute teachers would fuck up on roll.

I don't skip classes either, just whenever I go to the dentist or doctor/eye doctor/something else. I'm not spectacular though, 3.2 GPA. I really lazy. In fact, I haven't done homework since the beginning of the school year. I still maintain at least a 70+ in classes though ;D

Work on the guilt, buddy. Continue to think for yourself. Is school truly that important? If it's not, why worry about ditching? Many brilliant and accomplished people did fine without school (not to say that you must be brilliant or accomplished to be worthy of life - that is silly.) Proud of you. Nick

Just asnwer the phone and pretend to be your dad. At my school (public) they call with an automated message so my parents weren't home or I got the phone first and just hung up they wouldn't know... But I don't really skip class so it's not an issue.

So if I skip a class I just put the phone next to my comp, and when the message comes I pick the phone up and hang up xD. Your school sounds much more strict, sorry bro. Same thing happened to me when I went to high school. One time, me and my friends decided to cut and go bowling. When we got to the bowling center, the manager asked us what school we went to (supposedly, minors aren't supposed to be there during school hours). So my friends told him the school (-.-) and they called the school up and asked if the students were released yet. Of course we weren't so we got kicked out. We ended up getting some food and coming back an hour later when someone else was running the cash register. When the day was over, I got the automated-response which I just picked up and hung up right away. When my parents pick up the phone, I just say I was late to class and they marked me absent for attendance.
