Looks like south korea is lost to the disease that is LoL. It is fine they never really did anything in DotA 1 either. Its all about EU + CIS vs china vs SEA.

as a new resident of holland, this map makes me happy!

Honestly the huge patch in SEA doesn't make sense, the area around Malaysia/Singapore/Indonesia should be water (the sea), yet its one complete, seamless blob. Too high a density of players that it spread over the sea, or are there people sitting in their parked container ships playing dota2 I wonder

WTF is with people and their needless LoL bashing, we get that you don't like the game but you do not need to spit on it.
OP: I really love this map, wish there were more players from Egypt and Africa as a whole. I also cannot see my homeland :D

Dunno about the colors they chose but I can't help of thinking about it without being reminded of documentaries that do a similar looking chart but with Black Death body counts... especially Europe.

I'm sure it'll pick up when the game is released, although those areas have always been very LAN based. (especially Iran, for obvious reasons)

As a Geography student, I find this map very awesome, and some of the comments in this thread very depressing.

Man, does SEA ever stop playing LOL. It's still a big chunk of red

Confirms that there isn't much NA dota.
Drops from 150k to 65k when it shifts from EU to NA peak times.
It's sad that I can't get much competitive experience on US. I enjoy playing on SEA and China more where players play much more serious, and there are always sentries all over, and everyone is trying to win. But I can only play heroes that are playable at 325 ping like Centaur.
The ping to China for me is actually playable, at around 200-250, but there is packet loss that makes death messages, last hit gold numbers, spell effects, and so on often not appear. The SEA players usually communicate really well too.
