This will be less interesting than usual, I think, but it seems like TL blog tradition. Just a QQ Girl Blog basically.
I woke up this morning with a fire in my belly; I had decided I was going to ask out the really cute girl in my programming class. And I did. I spoke coherent english and asked her out to lunch. And then, alas
"Sure. But if you mean as a date, I have a boyfriend. If you want to study etc. etc..."
I think I said "ok thanks", and left, my heart rent. I can't recall ever feeling so crestfallen in my life. Activities that should bring me joy seem dull and empty.
She was so nice about it though that now I almost feel rude for leaving somewhat abruptly.
Also, our apartment is full of ants, so that sucks too.

well if you look at it objectivily, you didn't lose the game becase you were never a player in said game to begin with per se...
|
You're right, obviously. Just rather blue about the whole thing.
|
+1 experience. good practice speaking coherent english and she was completely transparent at least. forward and onward.
|
After she told you she had a boyfriend, you should have been like "We have our programming exam next week". She will be like "huh?" to which you should reply "That's another thing I can help you cheat on"
Hope you feel better soon!
|
Nothing wrong with what you did, at least you had the guts to go for it. Now you just need to do it again when the time is right (with her or someone else).

Hope you feel better soon! Nah, OP did it right I think.

As others have said, at least you actually did it. That's more then 90% of the girl blogs you see posted, so kudos either way. Rejection only gonna make it easier to pick yourself back up to do it again.
|
I've been rejected at least 10 times, most of them in a more cruel fashion than the one you describe.
And now I am happily married.
Things get better!
|
If I'm going to be rejected by a girl, this is how I'd want it to happen. No ambiguity, totally transparent about each other's motives and wishes. Much better than being strung along for who knows how long.
|
I thought this was going to be a blog about ketchup on TL Disappointed.
(But also good job working up the courage to do that!)

dont ask a girl to go out. as a man you tell her what youre doing and if shed like to join then she has ur permission. so, you give hte impression that you going out and having a blast isnt contingent on her being there. dont put her in the position of power to decide to go out with you. wear the pants and let her know ur moving forward with or without her.
edit:
ketchup is good. try filipino banana ketchup. now thats some weird shit

On a more serious note, rough but at least she was honest to you and was upfront about everything. I think it's much better for you that way and good job with going through with it and asking her.

Good job actually doing it and asking her out though. Thats more man than quite a few people i know who would just rather complain. Chin up! And get some ant traps.

You got married on your 11th try? Oh....
I get a number like every 7th girl, and of those girls that give me their numbers, probably only 1 in 3 results in a date.
OP, glad you went through with it! Rejection really isn't that bad. In fact I think it makes you a more well rounded individual.

LOL is this a real thing, like "hey girl I'm going to go eat lunch by myself, you can come if you want"? Seems kind of ridiculous.
Anyways thanks TL you cheered me up a bit (also I just played Civ5 multiplayer for 6 hours straight, my mind is wiped clean).

Don't forget to neg her as you give her permission to join you on a glorious adventure.
