I'm really sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience's lately and the difficulties surrounding your disease. I hope things finally take a turn for the better and you get the help you need. As for the hospital/DR's/pain and the stigma surrounding a persons pain I definitely empathize with you on that one. It is incredibly disheartening to get those types of reactions from the people who are spost to be there to help with pain and instead you just get judged and dismissed as some young person who doesn't understand pain/is trying to take advantage of pain meds when all you want to do is just not be in a living hell filled with pain that no one can possibly understand nor do most of them care to understand. It's sad that a person who's in pain has to sometimes be an aggressive dick about getting the treatment that is needed but in this society being upfront and sometimes dickish is what is needed to somewhat live normally as best you can... I'm currently in a hole when it comes to getting pain assistance and it's driving me insane, the anger, the depression, the self hate that all comes from being in pain day in and day out and not having the necessary means to treat it is enough for someone to want to give up on life but I don't know... I hate hearing this from everyone but I guess they're right when they tell me to "try and be positive and dont give up; Things will get better eventually.." as hopeless as those words can sound, they are the words to believe in... I hope things can get better for you, like you said, do not be passive and agree with the medical people because they can have huge ego's and always think they know what's best but only you truly know what you need and you have to be forceful to get it, put a damn forcefield in the door and don't let them leave till they understand you're serious and you know what's best. Don't be afraid to complain to the higher ups, once they get complaints they may be more of dicks but their feelings are none of your concern all you should be concerned with is if they are doing the best they can to provide the right type of care for you, also don't be afraid to request a new doctor or new nurses if the current ones are lacking. I know this letter is from someone with a spinal injury but I think it empathizes with anyone who suffers from chronic pain. I think you may find it helpful, this letter hit home so hard with me it also gave me a better idea on how to interact with people who do not understand your pain and what you're going through. I've even just straight up had people read it like my girlfriend/friends/family who for the life of them couldn't understand where I was coming from when it came to my pain. A Letter to normals from a person with chronic pain http://www.spine-health.com/forum/pain/chronic-pain/letter-normals-a-person-chronic-pain Also, sorry for wall of text style of typing with bad grammar but it the point that matters. Wish you the best! I hope I can continue following your SC2 career & stream. Edit: One more thing, even though it's not advised with pain medication specifically pill form (All depends on what the pain medication is) but I've found that when taking my pain pills they seem to work with far greater efficiency if I disolve them in my mouth/under my tounge as opposed to swallowing them. Some of them taste absolutely horrid and some of them do not work by dissolving them in the mouth so do the research before hand. (I just had to find an alternative way to get the medication in my system because I don't metabolize the medication well [you can ask a DR to run that test to see if you properly metabolize the medication, I forgot the name of the test but I can find it if your interested in it] and I have a bad problem with throwing up constantly when I take my pain meds which causes me further pain) I hope you find something I said helpful~! Goodluck. Latto

It's ridiculous the way patients are treated and it's most of the time. There are good units and nurses out there but they are not the norm, that's for sure. Thank you for sharing that with us and I hope you make a fast and full recovery bro. to be fair (i'm not defending the actions of mg's doctors/nurses necessarily), most people don't understand how taxing those jobs are. hospital staff in big cities are stretched extremely thin. if those individuals don't force themselves to methodically shut everything out and take care (e.g. forcing lunch or short breaks no matter what), there won't be anyone to do anything. the issues are never-ending and you eventually have to draw a line to keep your own sanity. the business certainly isn't providing necessary support. general courtesy also generally breaks down for most people when any kind of pain is involved-- whiny cunts turn into nightmarish assholes to forcefully prioritize themselves at the cost of patients who need serious attention, leading to this kind of ever-present condescension among staff. get better mg. get some kpins and ride the aftermath out.

I'm sorry you or anyone else has to go through that; I certainly wouldn't want to again. Best of luck to you and a continued speedy recovery.

Feel better man. I read your whole blog and cringed at everything. I wish you a speedy recovery and I really hope you get better all around. Especially the anxiety. That's a horrible feeling to have day in and day out. <3
