W00t! I'm so excited to finally be announcing this! Myself and my lovely gf and manager Dot are being sent to Europe for 3 and a half months! We'll be based in the MYI house and travelling to Dreamhacks Summer, Valencia, Moscow and Stockholm! Hopefully I'll get a chance to squeeze in some other tournaments whilst I'm over there, maybe even a HSC if I'm lucky?
The most awesome part of this is to have a full-on competition season where my only focus will be being at the top of my game and performing my best. With so many opportunities in a relatively short time-frame I'll always have a goal right in-front of me. I'm really excited just to knuckle down and focus on working efficiently at my practice and improving to the point where I can show that I deserve this.
Heading back to Dreamhack is especially awesome as I had a great experience my first time at DH Summer 2013, where I had a decent result (if you're curious you can read my blog about that event here: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/420250-pigs-epic-dreamhack-summer-recap). This was also the first event where I met the MYI guys and even though it was the first time meeting they made me feel really at home and gave me good advice for my games. It was also when Stardust blew everyone's minds by absolutely destroying the entire tournament! Overall though DH is just one of the coolest events I've been to and I can't wait to get back there!
Over the last few days we released a series of "light-painting" photos to hype this announcement. We didn't do the best job of actually having good clues in the picture but making these is a pretty random and fun process.
They're all shot with a single long exposure in a dark room and Dot uses torches, a makeshift-lightsabre thingo and some other weird lights to shine onto certain areas to make them show up, and to create weird effects. The blue smoke is made by just shaking a glowing-rope around a bunch lol.
I think that's all I have to say before heading back to practice! Before I go I just want to say a big thanks to all the fans who have stuck by me through thick and thin, and especially to my team Exile 5 and our title sponsor Nvidia Geforce for giving me this amazing opportunity. It's really rare for players from our region to get chances to compete overseas in big competitions, and that makes it all the more special!
