Also really loved top 10. I didn't have time to watch every matches and this will help me focus on watching matches that are ahead.

People underrate Kwanros macro, his mind games and the variability of his play and then act shocked when he exceeds their wildly unrealistically low expectations. It doesn't matter as Bisu is vastly superior in any other aspect of the matchup. He just needs to play safe and not lose as Stork did vs Jaedong in Korean Air Season 2 semis. At least Stork needed to be greedy in order to increase his chances of beating JD so it was understandable. JD was also amazing at mind games. Also he can always keep a probe outside of his base to scout again when the first probe dies. Still much cheaper than getting run by or losing tons of probes defending the natural. If Bisu plays too safe, Kwanro will just win in a macro game. Thats the entire reason all progamers try to cut corners against even the most aggressive of zergs. edit: And it should be noted that Bisu does worse against aggressive zergs, like hero and shine, than he does against more text-book players.

But last time bisu played vs kwanro on circuit in the winners match bisu was putting 2 cannon and a 3rd which he later canceled but he really played it safe but he said he just felt behind. I guess his response to taking on aggressive zerg was just to top the zerg on aggressiveness. edit: i totally agree with you on kwanro's macro abilities though. kwanro is just the type who is like oh im floating 500? another hatch another base and he has that hand speed to constantly pump units. on top of that his larva management is fantastic. everyone seems to generalize kwanro as this only cheese only all in zerg but I think what ssak says about him holds fairly true: "its going to be all in or he's gonna greed like crazy" and the mind games too. like that game on circuit vs mini to us it just looks like a 3 hatch hydra but lsw and carry were saying kwanro was using 1 larva at a time everytime the probe stuck its head into the natural to make mini wonder if its just standard or if he is going for a hydra bust. while mini did pull probes very late that game i feel like it was in part due to the fact that kwanro had this kind of mind game play going since the start of the game.

Reminds me of Kwark constantly claiming Jangbi was a mediocre protoss, whos gameplan was nothing but gratuitous error followed by gratuitous error--- winning through an odd mixture of luck, and the stupidity of his opponents. Oh well, Kwanro fighting! I haven't really noted what the over time consensus regarding Kwanro is (I watched almost all BW games in that time period, but I did not often visit this forum in previous years), but generally speaking, the consensus can often be inaccurate, for a variety of reasons. In any case, I mostly considered him a relatively strong player (never among the strongest, but certainly never bad). Quite aggressive, great micro(especially drone) and tactical ability, and with a unique interesting playstyle - especially considering his success at the highest level of play. (There were a large number of "standard" macro Zergs who were neither as good/successful as, nor as interesting to watch, as Kwanro - although I never considered his macro as being particularly weak - perhaps a more relevant consideration being, his preferred choice of playstyle)
