I'm giving my arms a rest from the computer and since I can only watch so many episodes of parks and recreation in a given day before blowing my brains out, I am going to attempt the Nuzlocke Challenge.
However some of the rules are a bit stupid so I have made some alterations for a more enjoyable experience. Here are my rules.
- Battle style is Set (rule is abolished)
- A gym leader may be tackled up to 2 times. If you lose the 2nd time, you must restart the game to avoid shame and permanent embarrassment in the pokemon world (reputation is important!)
- No usage of any healing items in or out of battles, if a pokemon faints i have to bring it to the poke center to heal it (they can die infinite times tho). No repels are allowed either.
- I am only allowed to catch any of the first 3 wild pokemon I see on ANY route (including the sea and rods).
- I am not allowed to kill wild pokemon, I have to perserve species diversity and keep from killing off animals for personal gain (so no leveling vs wild pokemon).
- I am only allowed to buy 2 pokeballs from any pokemart at any time (I can't go back to goldenrod and buy 2 pokeballs over and over, I can only do it once).
- No save abusing, no breeding, and only trading with NPC.
- I am only allowed to catch 3 pokemon from the safari zone (can be any pokemon but only up to 3 total)
- Legendaries are off limits, must kill on sight.
I am going to start with the weakest starter pokemon, Chikorita as well :D ensures maximum difficulty.
ALso by doing this I accept the terms of agreement, that I will be erasing a save file that has about 250 hours played on it, more then 6 pokemon that are EV trained at 100lv, and another 10 that have reached the level 100.

Legendaries killed on site is a good way to protect diversity -___-

They live in recluse environments because they have huge bounties on their heads.

This is a pretty interesting take on Nuzlocke runs. Good luck!

wow... that will be rough deal

So you spread the butter stick on both slices of bread.

That isnt nuzlocke, You can res your pokemon so it isnt nuzlocke. It'll also be extremely easy because you'll just grind the shit out of trainers before facing gyms.
Its just a run of pokemon with the added annoyance of walking back to the pokecenter every 5 minutes and having 2 pokeballs

Does the Gym Leader rule apply to 1- Elite 4 and Champ Lance 2- Kanto Gym Leaders 3- Ash himself
If yes, This will be pretty much impossible to complete. If no, you can just lose over and over to elite 4 and grind enough xp.
Also, does the pokeball rule apply for Kurt, the guy who produces pokeballs from aprikorns?
Yes means this will just be another ridiculously grindy pokemon run and no means you will never have 6 pokemon.

When I was younger (like 10) I wouldn't bother with catching any pokemon either, I just kept using my starter pokemon and it was easy enough since he'd be 10-20 levels higher than anything else due to always getting solo exp.
Oh usually I also caught Moltres at the end since he was right there anyway.
But yeah, I think your challenge can be quite easily completed if you only use your starter In fact if you don't allow yourself to train on wild pokemon this might be the only way? Training 3+ pokemon with only trainers seems tough.
Also, no repels + not killing wild pokemon = horrendously frustrating. You're just going to try to run everytime?
I'd trade over those EV trained pokemon first btw.
Keep us updated ^^
edit: actually, killing the elite 4 without any healing does seem impossible with a meganium, have you got a plan for this?

Its just a run of pokemon with the added annoyance of walking back to the pokecenter every 5 minutes and having 2 pokeballs only fighting vs each trainer once, no rematches unless its a rival so you are forced to do it

I will not be using kurt at all, just for the lure ball he first gives you. No using apricots tho!

it would be easier if i used cyndaquil, but chikorita is the shittiest starter ever :D its impossible to beat the elite 4 with just a megaanium thats why I made it that way, but if I can beat top50gm's, I'm sure I will think of something

If your Pokemons don't die upon fainting, then it's not a Nuzlocke. Only a homebrew-ruleset Pokemon run. Death+nicknames are the core rules of the Nuzlocke run.

Overall I think the rules won't change it too much from a regular playthrough, no healing items is only a big deal on the E4 if you can allow your Pokemon to die, and I think no repel + no killing wild pokemon just makes it slow paced for no real reason. You are basically forced to spam run and hope it doesn't take too long. Have you even considered the possibility of the wild pokemon having an ability that stops you from running away? Or even having to reset if you accidentally crit a Pokemon you are trying to capture?
You can do whathever you want if you feel it's fun, but I'm not sure it will be such an interesting run, personally.

I said im doing the challenge in the first line, then no one reads the paragraph below :/
if wild pokemon has ability that i cant run away, ill kill it. Accidental crit is accidental crit and it dies. The purpose is to try to get as little XP as possible and be able to complete the game with it
