On another note, how much IP should I save up for when I'm 30 and need to get a couple rune pages. The most basic (current) runepage setup - red: AD+Mpen, yellow: armor, blue: MR, quints: AD+AP - set you back about 20k. If you like the game, investing RP in a runepage bundle is highly recommended. You need your IP to buy champions and runes. If you like the game A LOT, load up some RP and buy champions you like or that look cool at the bi-weekly sales.

I wanted a few heroes and I knew I would be needing to save IP for runes and that buying champions with IP was delaying that. 20k doesn't sound bad, hopefully I will be able to get at least 2 pages when I hit 30.

With aoe dmg, and 700 range... dunno how you could say that's not amazing. She also snowballs fights hard, dat ms is ridic.

I should clarify: The 20k are JUST the runes. One set of AD reds, one set of MPen reds. One set of armor yellows, One set of (flat) MR blues. One set of AD quints and one set of AP quints. Runepages are 6300 IP each. On November 21 2013 13:43 TheEmulator wrote: lol, I know right. Spending money on a free game, what dis.

So I got the Skyrim when it came out like two years ago for like $60. I played it for maybe 100 hours, which works out to about $0.60 per hour of play. I play it occasionally still, so I'll tack on a 0.8 multiplier for a total of about $0.48/hour on entertainment. On the other hand I got Brood War like a bajillion years ago for $20 (I probably have bought 2 or 3 copies though). Math is a little annoying, but let's say I played an average of 4 hours a week from 4th until 11th grade, for a total of about 1700 hours. Divided out, that's about a penny per hour of entertainment. Let's look at League. I've got like 800 ranked wins (last check), so we'll say that with a winrate of around 55% I have around 1400 ranked games played, each taking about half an hour for a total of at least 700 hours spent playing League. Using the number from Skyrim, I am justified to spend about $350 on League. If I do the cost/hour with Brood War though, I can get a happy meal.

They sometimes have 2-for-1 rune pages on sale which is the most IP efficient way to spend RP (aside from skins which have no purchasable IP cost equivalent). This is followed by the 6300 IP champions on RP sale.

The actual champion bundles that Riot still sells, while filled with the older, "classic" champs, are also pretty damn efficient, plus both the Tristana+Alistar giveaways (for liking on facebook and subscribing to the Riot Youtube channel) are still running. Incidentally, the LoL Amex deal for free RP (with a measly prepaid card) is still available. I just haven't been able to utilize it because they're asking for SSN documentation which I don't have on hand lol.

The sooner you want the content, the more you spend with RP. I've only really spent RP on skins/rune page bundles, and I still don't have all the champs (the ip grinding mang, 14 more 6.3ks to go). Though tbh, the champs I would still buy would probably be for like 1 game after buying then leaving them in my pool. IP from it so far, and spent no money, except using the card to buy like coffee I would buy neways.

Jinx makes me real sour about the nerfs to Kog Maw's range ages ago... I know there's supposed to be a tradeoff where even though her range has 100% uptime (and she can have it at level 9 like Kog) her attack speed is lower, but having 700 range is just awesome and the teamfight AoE makes up for the attack speed loss. If you're getting dived you're gonna switch to minigun anyways and root > slow. It's just not fair. =(

I just called them and told them I had an AmEx card already and they looked up the information from that.

I know it is part of their plan to smooth out power curves, but it makes lvl 1 so incredibly woeful.

Now I run the 4% attck speed mastery, otherwise I want to punch babies.
