Thanks to azurespace for making the original post!
STX passed along the announcement to KeSPA that they cannot keep running STX SouL. STX had wanted to continue their sponsorship of the team, and KeSPA offered that they would get sub-sponsors to help out STX if they would stay on board. However, the creditors rejected the suggestion, and the potential sub-sponsors backed out upon hearing the news.
The Soul players Dear, Classic, Mini, Trap, and Size had participated in the 'posting' process (a draft/auction to the remaining KeSPA teams) in secret on the 28th of August, with INnoVation opting out due to joining team Acer. Only Classic was able to join a KeSPA team through posting, joining SK Telecom T1.
Coaches Calm and Park Jong Soo have decided to begin their military service, and Protoss player Mini has retired.
Some of the remaining players are looking to join foreign teams, while the remaining players and coaching staff will participate in the GSTL as Team "SouL." They are expected to acquire new players such as Hwangsin and SSaNaEE for this purpose. The head coach of SouL, Kim Min Gi and coach Choi Won Suk have made a contract for a team house around Incheon at their own expense to help gamers who want to continue their careers.

I thought they said at the end of SPL that the team was not in trouble?

So the zombie team STX Soul will play in GSTL? Kinda sad that STX has to go this way, but atleast the players have something to compete in.
GSTL got a lot more interesting to me personally.
And Classic going to SKT T1 is pretty damn cool
Edit.: Kinda funny that the article was published at 11:56pm considering how everything was supposed to be announced September 1st

Even without Innovation and Classic their roster is still very formidable to any GSTL team. GL to them!

Rest in Peace, you finally won your Proleague - better to go out on a high than slowly fall apart

The manager and coach will run the soul by their own money until they find a sponsor. Op you should mention that

Goddamn it! Not changing my badge, but who do I root for now? Ugh. This sucks. gg STX.

Kind of silly, win proleague, then disband.

Team Soul huh.
Sucks that they don't have a sponsor anymore. It also sucks that the Soul Train isn't a team member.

WTF they won Proleague how can this happen? And Mini retiring sucks. I was hoping he would make a big splash in sc2.

Mini retire. Calm goes to military service.
The coach of SouL, Kim Min Gi and Choi Won Suk has made a contract for a dormitary around Incheon at their own expanse to help gamers who want to continue their career as progamer.

As expected. Classic to SKT T1? Well, someone can coach Bisu's terran now. Also, Zombie STX in GSTL? Sounds.... ah, good luck. Mini as someone mentioned at BW forum, was caught streaming BW on Afreeca. Now, wait for news of disbandment of 2 more teams and possible formation of new one (or shall we count zombie STX as one?). Also, STX got passionate coaches.... maybe that's why they had such a good players. Also, do we know who is left in SouL? I suppose hyvaa is still looking for new team (foreign one? who knows). Last is having health issues if i heard it right and so we are left with Dear and Trap from A-team and whoever left from B-team (Youngjoo, huh).

This is more about financial troubles of STX the company than it is about how well they did in SPL. They also stopped sponsoring a Korean soccer team.
