In light of the recent Crank-Alicia incident i decided to give my 2 cents on the matter because as a viewer i felt like my time was slightly wasted and in turn i kinda took offence to that. TBH i personally think Crank just made an honest/innocent mistake, the issue itself isn't that big of a deal to me and thats not what i wanted to talk about. It's the few comments that i got that challenged my integrity that kinda got to me.
Everyone knows about my past and i know that ill get flake for it for several more years to come, rightfully and deservedly so.. and i have no problem with that. I usually just ignore the comments but i decided to address them this one time due to the amount of hypocrisy that goes on in this community. Regardless of what you think of me i take pride in my honesty and i believe thats one of my greatest traits. I honestly wouldn't change any of the mistakes that I've made in the past because I've grown to be a better person due to them, no bullshit.
I started maphacking when i was 14-15ish years old, this was even before i knew anything about the BW/TL community.. i was just some kid that was playing a PC game for fun. Once i started to take the game more seriously i discovered the BW community and i started to make a name for myself, at that time i was already extremely dependent on maphacking and i really couldn't play without it. I had gained an identity by playing a game that i loved and grew close to alot of people.. even tho i know it wasn't done the right/honest way, i was still extremely young and felt like i couldnt give that up.
What ended up changing me after i got caught was my love for the community and the game. If i didn't give a shit about it i could have just walked away but i honestly grew to love the community, which is why i fought for their approval and in turn i believe that made me a better person.
It's funny when i think about it because i kinda feel like i was raised by the TL community. At first i was some dumb kid that made a few mistakes, sure they gave me shit for it but they never turned their backs on me, and for that i will always be grateful to them. I felt like it was my duty to show them that i wasn't a lost cause, and in a way it was the only way i could repay them back. Go ahead and call me whatever you want but please remember to never question my integrity or honesty because I fought hard for those values ^ ^
And regarding the hypocrisy part, this pretty much summarizes my opinion on the matter:
(just wanted clarify that @DrCrowbar was the one who tweeted me this, this has nothing to do with TB )
*Payam Toghyan @iamTT1 2h @Totalbiscuit he just needs to understand that forfeiting a match beforehand is totally fine. what he did was disrespectful to the viewers
(to clarify this point further more, imo a player has the right to forfeit a match seeing as its his tournament life thats on the line. i feel like he has the right to make that call)
*Patrick Smith @DrCrowbar 7m @iamTT1 @Totalbiscuit lol Says the maphacker. You have no moral ground here, mate.
*Payam Toghyan @iamTT1 1m @DrCrowbar @Totalbiscuit the same ppl that question my integrity by calling me a maphacker when i was 15-16 in a game that had absolutely no
*Payam Toghyan @iamTT1 44s @DrCrowbar @Totalbiscuit $ online tournaments are the same people that follow dragon and suck his dick, which is why this community is toxic
i know my words came out a bit harsh but i was really mad at the time and thats just how my thoughts came out. that tweet instigated me to write this post, again this has nothing to do with dragon.. just wanted to point out the hypocrisy within our community
