I'm a casual player. I play a couple of games a week, just playing random with my buddies, that sort of thing. I'm not really a great player either. During PGT I could get to C rank with about a 55% win rate, not really a stellar performance by any means. But, PGT is gone. ICCup is here.
I hear that ICCup's field of competition is tougher than PGT's used to be. If that's true, I've got my work cut out for me.
I will use Terran to reach C rank on ICCup.
This is something of a lofty goal, considering that during my first day of play I went 4-4 using Random (With three of those losses coming while using my former main race - Zerg). I've been playing around with Terran lately, and I've actually developed a small degree of confidence in my TvP. Unfortunately that leaves two other matchups that I'm all but lost in.
This will be a test of my aptitude, fortitude, and will to succeed. Can I apply the things I know about this game from following Progaming? Will I be overwhelmed by the multitasking required for TvZ and TvT? Can I avoid proxy gates in eight out of ten games?! We'll find out.
Here I'll chronicle my adventures in tarnishing the good reputation of Terran players everywhere. I'll update after each ladder session with my progress and thoughts.
I'm coming for you Nada, you son of a bitch.

First game of the day, a guy enters and he had 5 wins and 12 losses.. I instantly think to myself, "if I can't beat this guy, it's going to be a rough trip to C". I'm liking my chances already, but when I select Terran, the villain selects Zerg. My heart sank a bit, this is the matchup I struggle with. A loss to a Zerg who doesn't perform well at the bottom rungs of the ladder wouldn't be the best way to start.
It took 19 minutes. After trying a 3 rax sunken break against 2 hatch lurker (You can guess how that worked out), I used the ten marines that survived to block his lurkers from walking straight to my base. I killed five of them with these marines while he leapfrogged them closer to my base, and by the time he arrived my nat was online and I was making tanks out of two factories. After that it was short and sweet, fighting off his units while touring his expansions. It gave me a great feeling to play something close to competently in this matchup, and honestly I'm looking forward to the next test.

The outlook is grim so far, fair readers
After losing a game because the asshole unpaused when my phone rang, I got aggressively reaver-dropped on Gaia and overrun 20 minutes later, and then lost two TvZ games due to foolish micro mistakes.
I'm going to have to get my head on straight if I'm going to progress as a Terran, I need to focus on playing TvZ with the impression in my mind that I do know what I'm doing. Despite these losses, I'm finding myself actively seeking out Zerg players with an intense drive to overcome them.
Calm and collected at 5-8, 1205. My goal for today is 1500, halfway to D+.

Funny Steve, im doing the same.
I never played a ladder (like maybe 3 games on pgtour?). Never played practiced map dependant strategies for a map beforehand. I usually just think what to do in the moment. In the last month or so, with the time i have left i have been trying to ladder a little.
When i really want to play i go on any map, but im trying to get my game really strong on peaks, because its a map were some usual strategies dont work, and some crazy do. It also makes you babysit your army a lot more, because the pathing is a bitch. So, going from your army to your base every seconds is a must.
I have been playing random. I only pick when people ask me to do so, and i pick whatever they choose for me. Its been fun, hopefully i can answer in the near future to the question "Rank", with a letter answer instead of a long explanation of why i never played ladders.
Good luck
