I purchased books for 180£ the other day, then I'll finish by purchasing another 400£ of books next month, I'm addicted, I waste half of my income on books, often expensive luxurious editions, facsimiles of old books with staggering price tags. Sometimes I even roam Ebay for first editions. it's a romance, a relationship with the books I read. It is easier to pick up a beautiful well made book for some reason, great paper and ink that oozes quality and is a pleasure to read. Maybe I am not all to blame, as I inherited a small collection of first edition and early editions of books by the likes of woolf, joyce, v. s naipaul, and a number of others.
But this is a curse, I hate possessions and I have begun collecting heavy books in great numbers that just sit there after i've read them. But look at this Lord of the Flies edition, dont you just want to pick it up and read it
