Hi guys!
I'm learning SC2 and specifically Zerg, the idea of mass armies on a few minutes whilst also having a huge econ made it appealing but I'm struggling with a ZvP match up.
Here's my most recent ZvP game (loss) from this morning: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/103048532/Zerg Loss.SC2Replay
I seem to find myself doing fine until an attack starts. I've tried both passive and early aggression with a ling wave but can't seem to find the happy medium, also soon as a wave of toss units comes in it's almost an instant gg from me....
Thanks in advance guys, the advice I've gotten here over the past day or so has been incredible :D

Few things: Scout a hell of a lot more , you went blind 3 expo against protoss, you guessed right but usually you only want to take 2 bases and just make a 3rd hatch in your main or at your natural if the protoss stays on one base. You wouldn't know he stayed on 1 base though because the only times you scouted were right at the beginning and just before he moved out. Think of those early 4-6 lings as your scouts, poke at his front to see what units he's making and if he's taken an expansion and stop drone scouting.
Also you took your third instead of your natural first even though he didn't pylon block you or have his probe anywhere near your other drone, the extra distance the drones have to run really cuts down on your income and doesn't make the expansion economically viable as quick. Not to mention the distance is so long its hard to reinforce either area. Also you quick teched to lair, threw down hydra den+infestor pit and didn't build either unit until the protoss was knocking at your natural. Also your macro was way off, need to keep expanding, keep injecting, and keep making units. if you had made mass hydra against that composition he did, you'd of blown him out of the water.
Don't be afraid to put down spine crawlers either when your money is floating that high, also you need to mine gas a lot faster, you were only mining on 1 full geyser for a long time and you even made extractors at your 3rd and natural but didn't put drones in them.
Those are just the things off the top of my head that I see. I'd be willing to play with you some so you can get a better feel for pvz.
Edit- Here is a game I played against some diamond P user last night on ladder. It demonstrates some of the things I was talking about, granted my macro wasn't the greatest for a little bit, but I correct it pretty fast and just slam out units when I need them. I also use my zerglings to harass and scout the map and clear it of reinforcing pylons or scouting when his army is moving out etc.

Can´t look the replay now, but what was your scouting like? Did you send Overlords into his base at the right times? At what point did you realize what was coming your way to kill you?
Generally speaking, for Zergs, information is the most important thing of all. You want to play reactive, right? Drone up to exactly where you don´t die from any early timings you know you can´t hold. And then keep droning, scouting, maybe build a few rounds of units that will blend in with your later composition. And then, sort of "last second", with your huge economy flood with units and try to build an army that will crush his.
