I'm proud of this, it's a great idea. Yubee was very creative and smart in making this, and here's just my opinions on it.
I have to be honest here, I am extremely jealous of all the people who are going to make a VOD and commentate on it. Why? Because all of you claim to be so much better, I bet your voices are most definitely more easy to listen to, and you probably have some more strategical tactics to talk about than I can. I'm also quite sad, because I know that most of you guys here hate my VODs, so I will have a 0% chance of getting on the English Commentary team if there will be one.
But if there's one thing I have to say, I am also quite happy about the result of my hard work, which is inspiring others to make their own commentaries. Hmm... tasteless? Nony and Day? Omg, a crappy commentator named Superiorwolf! Lol! I can do better than that! I'm going to make my own commentary!
Well, for all there is to say out there, I wish you all good luck. I will participate in the contest, but I will know that I have a slim chance of winning. 80% of TL hates my commentaries.
I just have to say though, if there will be an English Commentary Team, I have to say this. Make sure you know what you're doing before you join it. You have to be dedicated in what you're doing. It's hard work to do commentaries, I bet Tasteless/Nony/Day could agree with that. Maybe not Nony/Day since they only did a few, but to continuously do VODs and have it integrated into part of your life, you must be dedicated and passionate about what you are doing.
As one last word, I will continue making my VODs no matter what the outcome of the TL Contest, since I probably won't win anyways, I will continue to pursue my dream. I will keep trying to get better, when my voice gets deeper and when my commentaries make more sense, to both the mid-level strategist and someone who just wants the pure enthusiasm. I will continue to pursue my dream, and I hope you will pursue yours.

That was actually really inspirational. I think if you took a bit of a reality check, you would feel better about this.
First off - Your only 14. No one expects you to be outstanding and the fact that you are trying so hard and being so persistent despite regular criticism is astounding. Most people would have eased off.
Second - Given your age and the impending release of Starcraft 2, you are in a very good position to learn the game from from it's roots and become a fantastic caster by the time the game goes main stream if it's truly your dream. You jumped into the deep end with Starcraft due to it's age, depth and the knowledge of players - You will have a clean slate to work with with a new game.
Any good shoutcaster would tell you that it takes tons of practice to become good so you are on the right path.
Good Luck

I'm not crying, I'm just saying my feelings. Why would I cry over a contest?
And Kennigit, thanks You're right
Edit: Jathin you editted it, and you're right also, I will try as hard as I can.

well there really is only two things to evaluate commentaries on:
1. voice - sound, articulation, etc 2. content - strategical depth, quality of "excited" voice, etc
so if you believe you're inferior in both the only way to make that team is to get better at it.

You could keep on it, and maybe... say 3 years (I know most of us will last that long :o), and you might be pretty damn awesome.

1- is horrible but not your fault 2- is good but could get even better

^ douchebags don't listen. Keep going.
p.s. People on youtube love your commentary, it's definitely worth it. I'm impressed that you didn't blown up and crack and started bm and get banned. You composed yourself in such hard critiques better than most of TL population.
Again, don't let the douchebags get you down, keep going at it and pffffft fuck voice, it'll get better overtime. People think they're so smart, so clever, so worthy of bashing hardwork. I say, fuck you. In the end it doesn't matter how smart you are, it doesn't matter what you can critique about other's work. What matters is what you have accomplished. As long as you keep going at it, you are accomplishing something. Critiques accomplish nothing but scorns, and as a producer you ignore those critiques and hopefully you get better.

im guessing you didnt see the screenshots evan? this guy said some ridiculous stuff so all i can really say is good luck in controlling your temper as well as working on commentaries

A few words of encouragement: I believe a large portion of the reason why people make fun of your voice/age/presentation in commentaries is because you are not yet experienced enough in the game play to compete with top commentators, but it won't be that much work for you to improve your knowledge and understanding of the game. Don't let people get you down for other reasons because unfortunately it's very easy for people to focus on them. I would have trouble commentating because I don't understand the game well enough either. If I was your age I'd probably get criticized for the same reasons :/

You do at least have dedication and a probable lack of outside commitments, being 14 and all. I'm sure there are some commentators who are really awesome but just can't be bothered to take the time to keep up making commentaries
