May I also ask: When early game laning, is it better to focus on getting CS as much as possible? Or try to harass to force them out of lane? Or both?

You could try out rejuv bead/faerie charm + pots + ward. Note that the pot limitation is also only for 'same type of pots' - so you could have 5 pots and 4 mana pots (I wouldn't really recommend that many mana pots on anyone, though.)

I've seen AD red/quints armor yellows and MR blues, as well as hybrid reds, armor yellows MR blues and hp quints, what do you guys prefer and why? I run one of four pages on Shen, depending on the matchup: I always run armor seals and MR glyphs. Period. CDR just isn't Shen's forte, it will more than likely make him run out of energy in a 1v1 situation. If it's someone I can bully by throwing swords at them and not actually engaging, Hybrid pen marks and AP Quints can press this advantage (and AP really isn't awful on Shen overall) If it's someone I can fight by going all-in/extended trades, I run AS marks, AD quints. AS marks make it easier to pick up a second proc of ki strike in an extended trade. Hybrid pen marks would also be effective here. If it's someone who can bully me, I run AD marks (increase the window for last hitting so it's easier to sneak in last hits while avoiding being bullied) and either armor or MR quints based on who's bullying me. (The armor quint page uses scaling MR glyphs, since it's a physical bully.)

They go with anything and can win lanes by themelves, so it should be k and you could sit around and be a useless bird without losing the game. Probably.
