This just too good.

Also there's obvious stuff, when someone roams ping and push if you cannot follow... if you farm like a boss you can also stomp(for example in bronze 3 if you have 330 minions at 30min or whatever it's a pretty easy 1v5), make your teammates value map objectives etc

1. Why is it that people say Zed's ulti is easily countered? Using flash/zhonya etc...well, I am pretty sure lots of champs' ulti can be countered by flash...and Zhonya, what is NOT countered by Zhonya....? The same could be said of Lux's ulti, just move left or right. Cait's ulti, just barrier at the right timing, and so on and so on....

So why do people act like Zed's ulti is way too counterable when there are many many champions whose ults can be countered using the same method? (Flash, zhonya0

2. I am in a dilemma between flat vs scaling runes. I heard that runes are actually only for early game, late game they are useless. I am quite surprised to hear this, is it true? If it is true, then....perhaps it is better to just get flat for early game?

Not all heroes need burst flat rune in the beginning, only a few hero can combo people to dead in the first 6 levels. Scaling runes basically break even after level 7, so for some heroes, such as Akali, shines after she gets level 6, it makes sense for some people to get scaling runes and turtle until level 6,7.

Zed isn't really anything special at all without his ulti. Zhonya also times out his shadow.

For example vs Khazix you can Zhonya his combo and... When you come out he Qs you for a billion dmg anywy. With Zed he loses like 80% of his damage and if he used his shadow to get close to you, he'll have nothing at all left.

Annie ult for example isn't countered by Zhonya / flash on reaction(the reaction part is important)

basically it's a matter of reaction times.
you have 3 seconds to zhonya/flash and mitigate most of the damage of zed ult
you have about half a second to zhonya in response to veigar ult (assuming he doesn't stun you anyways)
you have about 0 seconds to zhonya in reaction to a flash/ult from annie

I prefer flat runes unless it's scaling MR. It is true that bonuses from runes are worth more at the start of the game and start to diminish in value later as you gain items.

For example: AD quint+marks will net you 15 damage, average starting damage is about 50, a longsword (+10AD) is worth 400 gold, that is a 25-30% increase in damage and 600 gold right off the bat. Pretty sure people have gone through this basic calculation.

I do that

exactly one thing I will add to that, because a lot of people find it confusing. League calculates with the exact numbers.
So if you only have AD reds thats 8.5 additional damage. In game you only see + 8 but in reality its 8.5 so you do not have to try to get to x.0 in your runes

Meh, it's okay-ish, but it's really just: 'Play more and get the feeling', which of course is true, but not so helpful, thanks for the tip though !

EDIT: Like: when do I start roaming, where to maneuver to, how to take advantage of someone else roaming

Ultimately, the goal of the game is to kill their towers.
So, you go roaming when a) it will accomplish something and b) you won't lose your tower. Usually this happens either after you can shove your wave super hard, or you've taken down the enemy tower.
(Sometimes a tower is an acceptable sacrifice if it means, say, you get two kills and dragon).

If someone else is roaming you have a few options. If you see them going down, you can follow them and make it an even fight; maybe even get your jungler to help. Just be careful not to commit to a fight you won't win. Your other option is to ping it and hope your laner backs off like a sensible person, while you push mid as hard as possible and try to take the tower.

Could you explain what you mean by "where to maneuver to"?

To answer your original post some, you should engage when you think you can come out ahead. That's difficult to gauge until you have a lot of experience, but the best way to learn is to be super aggressive all the time. As for advice on how to harass, keep a mental list of things they can do to you, and harass them when nothing on that list can touch you. (so, ashe against taric mf, you can harass mf with your autoattacks when her passive isn't up and taric isn't close enough to stun - this example is a simplification but it's the right general idea)

Invading jungle as mid is usually something you only want to do when you know that your jungle and your bot or top lane are paying attention and capable of coming to help. It's very risky otherwise, as the situation can easily turn into 1v3 or 1v4.

Pushing is hard, because pushing now can mean you're still pushed later. Ideally, you will not be pushed when the jungler is trying to gank, and all the way at the enemy tower when the jungler is elsewhere. However, this isn't exactly obtainable, so use your best discretion. If you don't have wards and you're not someone with piles of escapes, don't push.

Thanks for the tips , really helpful!
I meant by where to maneuver to: like, do I jungle invade their jungler(red/blue, wraiths?), do I go bot, do I go top?
Let the music be the fuse that'll spark my soul

I have a problem.

For some weeks now, my LoL crashes at the end of the game when i click the button to leave it. It happens about every second/third game, and i get a message "Adobe Air Launcher has stopped working" with the LoL symbol in it. It is not really problematic since it only happens after the game is finished, but it is still kind of annoying. Does someone know how to get rid of this?

Don't know about the second one, but there's a lot of people in the LiquidParty and LiquidPractice channels in LoL. You might be able to get a game started in one of them.
There's also the weekly T.R.O.L.L.S. meeting; for more info check the thread. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=392778

No, flat runes are way better. It doesn't matter if a flat rune vs a scaling rune is the difference between getting a kill or not, because if I have flat runes and my opponent doesn't then in the vast majority of games/lanes I can just zone and win the lane before that break point hits.

Say I come to lane and notice I have 15 more of the applicable resistance, and a higher offensive rune value of my choice I'm going to force fights because on a purely statistical note I am stronger. Suddenly my opponent is denied last hits because he straight up can't fight me even if he started consumables.

You grab a full scaling runeset on akali against any reasonably aggressive laner and you might not make it to 6/7 until he level 9 at which point he has such a huge CS/level lead that your runes giving you more stats just doesn't matter.

Nope.
Well, Varus Q isn't auto-smartcast. Smartcasting just turns it from one button press to two. At least, I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

As to the flat vs scaling runes argument, the big thing to do is look at the breakeven points.
Generally, if it breaks even by ~6/7 there's a good case for scaling, while otherwise you should always go with flat. Scaling runes also make much more sense in some situations: scaling mr instead of flat on junglers because you're not going to be taking magic damage until around level 4 anyways. It's not a huuuuge deal either way, so use your own discretion.

Just really confused about starting items. Maybe there is no definite answer? It all depends on who you are laning against? Take my example, a mid Zed. What would you normally pick? What if the enemy you think you would be facing is actually a different one, not the one you originally thought?

I am confused between:

Dorans -> This is good for trades and harass right
9 pots 2 wards -> Very good for sustain, but maybe I have to focus more on CS instead of harass?

Regarding the imbalance, hilarious to see Zergs defending themselves....

exactly
but as a bruiser/assassin in solo lanes you usually go 9pots2wards or 4 pots redpot ward the only one who starts doran is the ad carry
