winrate is not everything in a game like this, because there are so many factors that go into a game. You can't compare a win in one game to a win in another; it's the same reason people fuck up meta all the time. Games are not strictly comparable one to one.
There are plenty of worse players who get carried and plenty of better players who get brought down. Yes, winrates may correlate with skill, but not nearly as strongly in other team games, because the sample sizes are so small. Average games played is probably less than 10. Good luck getting anything statistically significant out of samples that small.
(for the record; I have 7 mafia games. You think you're gonna get anything useful out of those from an objective standpoint?)

err yea I really don't wanna know my ELO marv. Before this game I was 1-6 as town. Kinda embarrassing actually 1-0 as mafia though. Maybe I could give you some pointers on proper scumplay?
I really don't think you'd be able to come up with an objective measure of skill that is any better than winrate. And winrate isn't even that good. Maybe over a huge sample size it would tell you something meaningful. Like someone with a 70% winrate over 50 games has probably been doing more to help their team win than someone with a 30% winrate over the same number games. But it's just really difficult to objectively measure skill in TL mafia. For a lot of reasons.

I think I have over 30 games on TL over 6? years and I doubt my teams have won over 40% of the games. Too many variables to get a solid conclusion out of them.

You could go into games dismissing his opinions entirely out of hand because your rating is 500 points above his which obviously means he's a scrub and you're a god and he should bow down before you immediately.

I have a 75% win rate as third party, and the one I lost was impossible to fucking win.
(I was a target for an assassin, but my win con was to be last man standing. on night 1 mafia shot me and the mafia godfather raged at me for lynching him and outed me in the thread).
but to be fair one of them was impossible to lose (I got lynched day 1 but won anyway with the host... yeah that's right, the host and I won the game. Town and mafia lost.)

All this setup discussion makes me want to get into hosting. What's the procedure for becoming a cohost? Do I just post my resume in the active games thread?
