You advanced to the Ro16 as first from your group. How do you feel?
When I came to the studio, I was expecting to get third place. The end result was beyond my expectations so I feel glad (laughs).
How come you were expecting to get third place?
I had a feeling that I was going to win the first match no matter what since it was a TvZ but TvP was so difficult during practice that I just told myself to go for third place.
You were getting pushed around quite badly in game one but you made an instant comeback and took the victory.
I think I wasted away too many units. There was a small moment where I didn't have an army but DRG didn't miss that timing so I ended up getting pushed. But I figured I was still going to be able to win because his army only had 1/1 upgrades.
In game one of the winners' match, you blocked Flying's warp prism drop rather quickly.
I couldn't really see what he was doing at first so I thought he was getting an army. Then I checked again and I noticed that he was going for a warp prism. As soon as I saw that, I predicted dark templars so I prepared myself for an attack.
Game two really showed the power of hellbats.
I decided to utilize hellbats once I noticed how heavily he was going for zealots. If he had a lot of stalkers, I probably would not have gone for hellbats. I didn't even try to dodge storms because I had this feeling that I was going to win even without needing to dodge any storms.
Ever since your IEM 7 championship victory, you've been on a rise. What are your goals for this season?
First of all, I want to make it all the way to the quarterfinals. After that, I'll have to think about it as I progress onward. I don't really have this big dream that I need to achieve for now.
A lot of players say that you are more intimidating than Mvp.
I love games that involve head-to-head combat and require multi-tasking. When the after burners feature came out for HotS, I think that was a plus factor for me.
For all your games today, you never once stopped utilizing widowmines and after burners.
I believe that the way I play now is the most efficient. So I frequently do that for practice as well.
Any specific group you desire for the Ro16?
I don't really care about the other races. I just want a lot of Zergs in my group (laughs).
GSL merged with WCS. How do you feel about this change?
I don't really know much about that. I just view everything like how GSL always was and believed in what is now. But if I was in Code B or Code A then I probably would have felt all disarrayed.
If you weren't Code S, would you have gone for NA or EU?
I didn't think about doing something like that (laughs). When I went overseas it was really tiring (laughs).
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank LosirA, RagnaroK, and Squirtle for helping me with practice and thank our sponsors LG Electronics, Steelseries, Googims Company, Nvidia, Coca-Cola, Super Flower, Kingston HyperX, and ASRock.

You difficultly made it into the Ro16. How do you feel?
I honestly thought I was going to advance to the Ro16 very easily after defeating MC but YoDa was too strong. I was broken mentally but I was able to grab game one against DRG in the final match so I was able to win like this. Today's match was so difficult.
Your group consisted of three champion opponents. Was there any pressure?
In my past interview, I stated that that didn't really matter. I had defeated a lot of tough opponents as of late and I figured that my opponents were rather past their prime so I saw that it would be doable.
You lost game one in the winners' round right after your dark templar tech got revealed.
I didn't really make any mistakes. Overall, I was satisfied with my performance but my opponent's movements were too fast. I defended well but YoDa established his expos without any trouble and his upgrades were fast. He especially forced me to engage too quickly.
You took on a ton of damage in game two because of hellbats.
I was lacking so much gas. I needed a good mix of stalkers and colossi but I invested too much in upgrades and I lost my engagements so I had no army.
You lost game two of the final match because of viper abducts and blinding clouds. As expected, vipers showed up again for game three.
I quickly teched up to high templars and I made sure I conserved my colossi to the best of my abilities. In order to protect my colossi, I sent my high templars to the front of my army and induced engagements.
Your main base got scorched because of mutalisks.
I never expected him to use a mutalisk/viper composition. It was a real hassle to deal with. I lost my stalkers and my high templars almost instantly and his mutas kept on replenishing their health too quickly.
Did you intentionally use dark templars in the main battle?
My intention for using dark templars was to get rid of my opponent's expansions during the huge scuffle. I think it worked out well. I think I was able to win because of dark templars.
You established a nice result for your first ever Code S match.
First of all, my goal is to get to the quarterfinals. But I don't know everything for sure right now. I need to experience the group nominations first.
GSL and WCS merged together. How do you feel about this?
I think all the good players are pretty satisfied about this. I think the players that were struggling are probably unsatisfied about this because the number of tournaments available shrunk. All the good players that were already doing well will probably be able to maintain their records while players who were struggling, will probably have to work even harder than before.
Anything else you would like to say?
I really hope I get an easy group next time (laughs). Lastly, I want to thank everyone who came to the studio today.
