For more modern games, "The Witcher" and "The Witcher 2" would be 2 story-driven RPGs. "Metro 2033" is a pretty story-driven FPS.
If what you are looking for is more along the lines of atmosphere, rather then story (and if you like horror), "Amnesia - The Dark Descent" might be something you are interested in.
If you like older games, "Planescape: Torment" or the "Baldurs Gate" Saga put a large emphasis on story, too, the first one even more then the second.
Depending on what you think of indie games, you might take a look at some of the Spiderweb RPGs (Geneforge, Avadon, Avernum), story is pretty important in those, but they are graphically not very appealing, and storytelling is also done in a very conventional way basically through pure text.I personally liked the storytelling in "Waking Mars" a lot, but i am not sure that it is that much of a story-driven experience for everyone. I heard that "To the moon" has a very good story delivered in a good way, but i have not yet gotten to play it.

Spec Ops - The Line is the premier story-driven FPS.
Can't believe someone mentioned Spiderweb! I used to LOVE those games! Unfortunately, IMO, Exile 3 was the pinnacle; series has gone downhill with the transition to 3D (much smaller worlds since battles are no longer "instanced," along with LESS variety with spells and a smaller party). Also used to love the creatures that took up multiple tiles; still don't understand why Jeff moved away from all that...

Solar 2 (75% off, 2,24€ atm) is one of the cutest games I've played in a long time. tl;dr: You play an asteroid that wants to grow bigger and can do missions for a rather eccentric higher being. One even includes...

Great gameplay, nice sandbox physics fun possible. <3

Alright so I have a 2 part question.
I'm planning on buying either L4D or L4D2, which one do you suggest I buy?
And two, when is the next sale on L4D coming?
|
Probably around the easter holidays for the sale, if you buying on a sale its not much difference to just buy both. L4D2 does have the original storylines in it as far as I know though
|
L4D2 does include all the original missions. You can get both for $2.50 extra most sales I believe, but there isn't a point since you can just play everything on L4D2.

Oh that's really cool! Valve always impresses me with stuff like that. Do you know when the next sale is?

Easter is the safe bet. There may be a big sale between now and then though or just L4D on daily deal or free weekend sort of deal.

Last day to use Amazon editor's choice coupons.
|
The Amazon coupon can be used for the $10 Mark of the Ninja indie pack, making the bundle $1 per game.
|
Mark of the Ninja is an amazing game. so much better than Shank!
|
Rayman Origins is 66% off which is more than what it ever was during the Christmas sale if I remember right. For 10 euros and the equivalent this is a really awesome deal if you're into these kind of games.

New humble bundle is up:
Six thrilling games for home and on the go. Humble Bundle with Android 5 includes six mind-blowing games and several ear-pleasing soundtracks. Pay what you want for the musically-powered arcade shooter Beat Hazard Ultra; the top-down stealth action game Dynamite Jack; the open world intergalactic Solar 2 (tablet recommended); and physics puzzle platformer NightSky HD. I haven't played the other games but nightsky is a lot of fun, that alone makes it a worthwhile buy imo.
