How do you feel about saving your team during a moment of crisis with your three kills?
We were on a six match winning streak until our previous match when we lost to EG-TL. Even though we lost a match, I think we can still get on a roller coaster so I wanted to win our match today no matter what. I feel proud that I won and relieved.
In the previous match, you lost to Stephano.
This also happened during my game against Jaedong sunbae but in my game against Stephano there were a lot of things I never did. I was disappointed in myself. I was planning on winning my game against Stephano but I lost so I was sorry to my coaching staff and my teammates. But I did grab three kills today so I hope they've forgiven me (laughs).
Were you pressured by the fact that you guys were down by a score of 1-3?
On my way to the studio from the team house, I felt like I was going to grab three kills. But I was conscious of myself so I didn't think about an all kill. Dear had already grabbed three kills but I told myself that everything would go well as long as I was able to overcome him.
Against Bogus you decided to go for mutas.
I felt that mutas would work against mech at least once. I was getting ready for it. That build order was recommended to me by Axiom_Miya. I am grateful to him for that. I am currently trying out build orders here and there. But as of right now, I'm still in a state where I need assistance.
You faced hyvaa in the ace match.
I had confidence in my ZvZ. They sent out hyvaa as the ace so I was able to comfortably play the last game. I pretty much expected hyvaa to come out when I saw what map it was. I put priority on my ZvZs for my practices. I didn't realize that I would be sent out in 1-3 situation. Well anyways, I was already chosen to be sent out as the ace beforehand.
Within the team, you're known as the creep king.
It's a nickname that coach Ryu Won gave me. When it comes to my games, I think creep is really important. This is something I thought about when I was no good at the game in the past. Recently, I've been supplementing this so I think that's why I've been doing well. Against Bogus I think I bloomed really well even from my perspective.
What is the reason as to why Woongjin has been doing so well?
It's because all my teammates have been working so hard. Even after our match against EG-TL, we practiced really hard late into the night. Normally, we work really hard anyways but we also don't overly share our strategies. Also, the company gives us a lot of attention as well. We're going to eat with them again today. Basically, we were in a situation where a loss was not acceptable (laughs).
What has changed since your switch to SC2?
It's not that my skills are outstanding. I don't think that I'm better than Soulkey and yet I strangely keep getting good results. I still have to wait and see what's going to happen. However, when I was playing BW I felt like I was at my limit but I feel relieved that I don't have that kind of feeling for SC2.
With eleven wins, you are now at second place for most wins.
I would like to grab the most wins award but I'm still lacking as of right now. I just feel like as long as I keep doing well like I did today then even if I can't mange the most wins award I think I'll be able to rise to the top.
For the final remaining match in round two, don't you want an all kill?
I always have the desire to grab an all kill. I wanted to grab an all kill when I was sent out as the starter against SK Telecom but I failed. But rather than worry about grabbing an all kill, I'm more concerned about making sure Woongjin maintains our first place spot.
Anything else you would like to say?
The company took us out to eat and I ate a ton of delicious food so I am going to remain strong and do well for our final remaining match for round two. I hope that they'll take us out to eat again if we continue to do really well like we're doing right now. Today, Soulkey wasn't feeling well so I hope he makes a full recovery. But he didn't lose cause he was ill (laughs). Other teammates are also feeling unwell so I hope they take care of themselves. But the fans don't need to worry since the coaching staff is so good at taking care of us.
