No, that's called bullshit. You like working so much for free then please go do my job for me and I'll accept the paycheck.

A lot of people dislike Destiny, hell, even I do not like him. But this is not about Destiny specifically, this is about Own3d and the financial troubles that seem to stem from them. Also, when you have kids, a family, and your income is not the greatest in the world, it makes it much more difficult to simply go to X or Y when Z supposedly pays better. Unfortnately, when Z does not actually fall through with their commitments, and your family can actually get hurt over it, of course you will speak out. So drop the attitude and pay attention to what actually matters here (and if you are into Esports at all, this should matter a whole lot).

It needs a Mod to change the title anyway, and the Op even asked for it to be changed. Regardless, Destiny brought all of this into the light (more so than it has been done in the past), and the primary focus was on his post. You accuse him of being a troll and yet you are the one coming off as one... sigh.

You should at least read the OP before posting in the thread. That way you can avoid shoving your foot in your mouth up to the knee, instead of saying inane comments like "stop feeding the destiny troll", which is completely irrelevant to the actual issue at hand.

It's not about being money whores or about playing a video game. Money owed should be money paid. It's straight forward.

So why does playing video game make us not entitled to the same amount of money that other streamer gets? This is not being money whore, it getting back the money you deserved and were promised. If destiny demanded more money from streaming then that different story but he was denied money he was promised and there are also evidence of other people having the same problem. Things will not work out if you do the stuff you love because this is evidence of exactly what can happen. You can have your own opinion on destiny but saying that we dont deserved the money we were promised because it just from video game is dumb.

People's brains cease to function at the mention of Destiny. As if they were robots unplugged from their power source, they fidget, sparks fly, and the lights go out. Real conversation ceases and in its stead nonconstructive hate emanates.

There isn't enough money flowing through eSports for a large number of people to be able to sustain themselves from it. This point may be accurate but isn't really relevant to this specific discussion. Owned promises to pay streamers a proportion of the money they receive for adverts. This is simply a matter of passing on the money once Owned themselves have received it, not difficult at all and should be pretty straight forward as each streamer receives an amount based on how popular they are. The additional promises that Owned made in regards to extra money to host tournaments etc on a stream was a decision that Owned themselves made and if they didn't have the cash to go through with it (which I suspect they did not) then they should not have made the promise in the first place. This isnt about generating additional money or whether esports is big enough to sustain a large population, it is about a company making promises that they cannot uphold and not complying with the contractual obligations they have imposed on themselves (again we arent 100% sure on the specific clauses of the contract but it is safe to say that the aforementioned would be in there somewhere, unless Destiny is lying).

You are not entitled to make that call for everyone else. The public as a whole deems what is and what is not worthy of there time and thus what they watch. If advertisers then want to tap into that market and pay streamers for it then that is there decision. Just because you do not like the content doesn't mean it should not be rewarded.
