Main Team 3 Hydra 3 Last 1 Mini 8 Soulkey 7 Stats 5 Stork (captain) 3 [tlpd#teams##sc2-korean]CJ Entus[/tlpd] Anti Team 7 HerO 3 Hitman 3 Revival I've picked players that are all capable of carrying. I am placing faith in Stork. Setting expensive player as captain is never a good idea so Soulkey and Stats are non-captains. I think Stork will be consistent, hopefully. I think my team is very balanced. Mini has opportunities to come out and play compared to other 1 point players. I went for Soulkey over likes of Flash because Flash showed weakness in TvT and likely will be sniped for it, which means at most he will get 1 kill (of course, that is hoping). Stats went undefeated and is a monster so he is a safe pick and will play every match. As for teams, CJ probably doesn't have the best all-kill players, but Hydra, Effort, herO are all capable of doing so, and by sending only best 4 player, they have a good chance of winning. Anti-team I'll prolly trade HerO for Stephano after week 1. I placed in top 40 first round so here is the hoping that I'll step it up.

First, I got the PL ELO ranks for the top 50 players in 2012-13 PL (from TLPD), and filtered out all the players with an ELO under 2000 (the baseline). Then I ranked the top scoring ELO players by valuation ratio. (P - LA - TW) / $ = R Where P = season 12 points LA = season 12 lineup appearance points TW = season 12 team win points $ = season 13 cost R = the resulting ratio. A higher R denotes a player with better "value". Then I picked only players with high Rs, high ELOs, and at least one "streak break", which means they took down a good player. The result: the lost romantics Main Team 1 Acacia For KT team points 5 Dear 2nd best season 12 indiv points to $ ratio 2 ParalyzE pretty much a wild bet, the best 2$ player 4 Speed the best season 12 indiv points to $ ratio 7 Stats great indiv points to $ ratio and 2nd highest ELO in season 12 9 TaeJa (captain) great indiv points to $ ratio in spite of losing ace matches, good ELO, and prior experience with playing SC2 in a KOF format 2 [tlpd#teams##sc2-korean]STX Soul[/tlpd] wild bet, best value for 2$ Anti Team 4 hyvaa worst indiv points to $ ratio 6 JangBi weakest 6$ player, weak player overall in SC2, and did really badly in KOF format in BW 3 Reality 2nd worst indiv points to $ ratio So pretty much a core of Dear/Speed/Stats/Taeja. Taeja and Stats have the potential to clean up teams. Dear and Speed are extremely good for their value. Paralyze and Acacia are there to get me team points from SKT and KT, and act as dark horses. P is still pretty overpowered following the infestor nerf. Heavy Samsung focus in the anti-team--a lot of their players are pretty overvalued.

Main Team 6 Action 3 Light 1 Mini 3 Revival 5 soO 6 Wooki (captain) 6 KT Rolster Anti Team 4 hyvaa 7 Jaedong 2 NaGi Main Team: Action - KT's main zerg. I owe him minerals. Light - Sin kinda took Light's role in stars as the core terran, but with Light being sent out as the starter in their match against Khan, it means that he isn't as overshadowed by Sin as I had originally thought. Mini - Probably the only one-pointer that has a chance to be sent out. Revival - Hopping on the Revival-Bandwagon with the absence of JD and Stephano. Hopefully he wins a game or two this week, because I'm gonna trade him away in week 2 for Bbyong(CJ's main terran for 3 points; he's my original choice for this slot, I'm just greedy and will take a risk with Revival in week 1). Soo - SKT's main zerg for 5 points is a good deal. He'll get sent out every single SKT match. P7GAB - Kinda KT's main protoss. He'll get sent out as much as Stats, and he's cheaper. I think they're fairly equal and KT will alternate between them or even use them both in some matches. KT - I always get KT as my team whether it's cost efficient or not. Idgaf. Anti: Hyvaa - STX's main zerg(actually only decent zerg), so he'll get sent out a lot just like last round. He'll also lose a lot, just like last round. Jaedong - Gonna miss a match or two this week they said. Most probably gonna trade him away next week. Nagi - Yeah he's Woongjin and might get a few team win points but it's safer than my original anti with JD, Stork and a 1-pointer. He's the 2-pointer least likely to get sent out.

Moneyball is all well and good, but his losses were to three ace players and a TvT sniper. There's a reason he's gotten so much hype in this thread.
