Also, i want me a City builder, played Tropico 3/4, like them alot, wondering if Sim City 4 is worth the 5$, or if i would be better off getting Caesar 3 or Zeus + Poseidon (Acropolis) from GOG, heard good things from all 3 games.

The Witcher 1 EE is 2€ on steam at the moment. It is definitively worth it. In my opinion, it is a very good game, and i greatly enjoyed playing it. Apparently some people don't like it. I have no idea why they wouldn't. Anyways, it is not like you risk a lot here, and if you do belong to those people who like it, you have gained a lot of worth for your 2€.

Bought it in the summer sale for 2€ and played through it in 31hrs and I was really surprices how good it still looks and how fun it is. Before I thought the Game was much older and not that great. And you can Import your Savegame from Witcher 1 into Witcher 2 - so you can keep your Gear. And if you buy it on Steam you can activate a "Backup-Copy" on GOG.

I think some might say the game's dull because they're reviewing chapters independent of the whole narrative, (though obviously some people wont enjoy it for other reasons, which is fair enough). It's only when the whole game was finished that I appreciated how well the story comes together. The pacing of the first chapters can seem a little bit off at first but they introduce you to some of the primary conflicts and many key characters. They're also about establishing your character as a 'witcher' and the roles a witcher serves, or is forced into, in society. I don't think I would describe the first game as 'epic' as that probably better describes The Witcher 2 more. The first game is built a lot around atmosphere and realising the protagonist's place in the world. The combat in the first game isn't particularly great but it's still fun. A lot of The Witcher's charm for me arose from the subtle things like the remarkable score or the occasional peculiar translation that really makes you feel as though you're participating in a different world. Choices you make are treated as ends in themselves rather than just giving you some minor reward later in the game.

Also worth mentioning is the colossal amount of fetchquests, such as "Bring me 10 wolf pelts". That was what turned me off in the end, but I do agree it's a very good game all things considered.

I like it quite a bit. I already own both the "Complete Edition" from the last steam sale, but I'm thinking about getting the Complete Pack (that includes all of em back to the first) due to the fact that my consoles don't like to read the old discs any longer. If you have any friends with decent computers, buy 2 of the packs so you can gift em over while it's cheap. It's a million times more fun playing with people you know.

It's an insult to compare mark of the ninja to assassin's creed. I really dislike indie games because of all the people that fanboy over them because they're indie games and they want to be anti mainstream.
