With classes ending for winter break this week though I decided to try and get back into the swing of things. In about half an hour my sister will get home from the airport so I'm making a Battle Report to pass time. ^^
The server is Fish and my weapon of choice this game was Terran. Everything is spoilered since there are a bunch of pictures.

The race begins! I spawn at the top left location while my opponent "bathroom" spawns at the bottom right. Hopefully he isn't playing from the bathroom.
It is worth noting that I dominated the early-game APM spam contest by roughly 120. Is this crushing defeat a sign of events to come?
+ Show Spoiler +
As if we agreed to a no rush 15minutes before the game, neither player has chosen to mercilessly cheese the shit out of the other player. A wonderful break from my usual plan of action.
Enemy spotted! Again, we agree to ignore each other for the time-being and explore our surroundings.
+ Show Spoiler +
Both players have confirmed the enemy lacks creativity and this game might be extremely boring.
Cya!
Totally standard 1gate expand
+ Show Spoiler +
Bonus points if you realized his core wasn't spinning like I did. This game is way too normal for my tastes. He has to be doing something weird instead of just delaying it for who knows what reason (faster nexus? no idea). Time to check my surroundings for hidden protoss scum.
I kind of expected to see something like this from a 1gate build and his nexus timing didn't feel tooo slow so I feel ok
+ Show Spoiler +
I decide I want to move out. My army seemed decent and who doesn't love fighting? If I wanted to turtle until I had a deathball I would be playing SC2.
This situation looks awkward as fuck. I thought I might lose it here too because these tanks are pretty important. His observer should be out now or any time soon. Going this far was maybe a mistake since I lost a lot of marines earlier on due to bad positioning.
+ Show Spoiler +
Luckily a clutch spidermine saves the day!
+ Show Spoiler +
I'd like to call this my Plan B.
Aggression is still on my mind. Since he didn't mind walking over my spidermines this kind of plan could be super effective.
Using a mine to keep this wall open for the incoming vultures is probably a waste but it felt like a great idea at the time. If only I had placed it a little lower. If only..
+ Show Spoiler +
If you have seen me play at all you know I love to overuse vultures. He actually has more gateways right now than I do siege tanks.
With many gateways comes many dragoons.
Yeah, he didn't really cheese this game but Arbiters suck. He is practically cheating.
Gatekeeper dragoon destroyed. This pair of vultures didn't accomplish too much. Only 4 probe kills while forcing him to pull them back to his nat.
I want more blood. I begin to move out immediately.
+ Show Spoiler +
lol... he didn't actually use his observers to do anything useful so I got here for free. Notice the sick mine contain outside of his nat too. It slows him down perfectly while I play a game of nexus destroyers.
Having killed his third for free I am ready to defend this with my life. I know the only two things that can get him back into this game are all-inning my third and recalling my main.
+ Show Spoiler +
I'm defending with my life.
Damn it, he's all-inning my third.
As a single Arbiter defends the home world, a trap beginning to form.
Traps are much more effective in pairs.
+ Show Spoiler +
Are you serious? I reinforced this shit and he is still waging war. How desperate.
+ Show Spoiler +
lawl you activated my trap card.
Seriously? I saw it coming and he still killed this. Protoss OP.
+ Show Spoiler +
You activated my other trap card
+ Show Spoiler +
Ok so in-game I only saw the mine in his main explode. Remembering back to earlier, he can only win if I let him all-in my third or recall my main. I estimate that losing my third is about equal to him losing his main mineral line. We can play defend the third again later but for now, I must work on preventing recalls to the main.
This calls for some science vessels. Upgrades are a bonus too.
As I don't want to be completely passive, I begin to set up a tent in the middle. I have some camping to do.
+ Show Spoiler +
And there's the recall to the main. Protoss OP.
I manage to clean it up with minimal unit losses but both armories and 4 supply depots still hurts.
+ Show Spoiler +
Explosions. Who doesn't like explosions?
+ Show Spoiler +
He is on three base for such a long time. I also scanned his third earlier and saw very few probes which made no sense. The mine explosion I didn't see at his natural was the missing link in that puzzle. With this in mind, I am ready to prepare for war.
Target acquired. Lets do this.
+ Show Spoiler +
In a last ditch effort to he rallies the troops to defend the nexus. His units of choice are an Arbiter, ten zealots and two probes for any last minute rebuilding.
+ Show Spoiler +
I come out less ahead than I should have but a won battle is a good battle. I begin to take what I have earned.
+ Show Spoiler +
With a little more clean up moments later he has decided enough is enough.
The guy's ladder rating was only 824 so this game was much harder than it should have been but damn, it feels good to play BW again.
This is my first battle report so this took forever to make. It was definitely fun though. Maybe I'll do more in the future. :D
